Phoenix Museum of Art
One of the places Jodie took me during my visit last month was the Phoenix Museum of Art. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 exhibits we visited! Anything having to do with fashion is always fun whether it is period wear, folk wear or something more modern. The Clay exhibit was quite impressive and I spent some time reading about the different pieces of art. We took some blog pictures right outside the museum and those will be on the blog tomorrow!
We listened to a talk about Alexander McQueen and one of this creation which is not pictured here. There were two halls with gowns and dresses. Jodie and I really like the jackets above and each one of us had a favorite.
With me having a moment with dresses this summer, it was fun to see some unique gowns. The theme being ColorWear, there were a lot of colors on display.

I wish I had more time in this section as the pieces of art were amazing. How can these 2 for example be made out of clay? There was such a variety of pieces that it was incredible they were all made from clay. So many techniques and styles for your eyes to feast on.
I will leave you with the wall of butterflies (there are about 20,000) that had to be pinned one by one to the wall. We would never have guessed there were so many!

Here is a cute selfie of Jodie, our friend Cathie and I! We followed our visit with lunch at Valentine’s which is a restaurant I sure recommend! It serves “wood fired Sonoran cuisine” which was unique and delicious.

A bientôt!
