Brights for Summer
As promised in this post, I am sharing some ways to style a striped dress with brights! Jodie and I took pictures during my visit a couple weeks ago, but I also have some examples to share that I took earlier in June and July. I have loved this dress this summer, I am glad to share it again with you. Make sure to visit Jodie’s post here! I hope these inspire you to wear brights for summer!
Stripes with Yellow
This is the outfit I wore to travel to Arizona (a 4 hour flight) and walk through the Atlanta airport to my gate (which is a long walk). I have found lately that I really like traveling in a dress: it is very comfortable as long as my shoes are comfortable too.
It was really fun that Jodie and I matched with our yellow and you will have to stop by her post to see her outfit! I added this little crochet sunflower to my purse/backpack and it was the perfect extra pop of color for a little added fun.
This is definitely an outfit to repeat: I think it is my favorite of how I have worn this dress because it is easy to take off the little bolero if I get warm and it really brings a smile to my face with all the bright yellow elements.
Striped Dress as a Skirt with Turquoise
I love this color combo! Well, I love turquoise with anything, but turquoise and brown sure is a striking combination. I wore this to church and thought that adding my brown belt with turquoise accents really made the outfit cohesive. My sandals are a close color match for this light turquoise color. As you noticed, adding a blouse over the dress transforms it into a skirt: this is a great way to expand your closet!
Stripes and Orange (layered under)
This dress works well for layering since there is no waistline! I added a fun cuff and sandals both with a flower motif. The sandals have been donated since then, I really never wore them: I liked the idea of them but was unsure when I got them last year, and that should have been my clue not to get them. If it is not a definite yes, it’s a no!
Don’t all of these brights make you smile! They make me want to wear brights all week!
A bientôt!

Thanks, Di! It’s been a stressful start of the week with parent health issues (and kids) but hopefully things will take a turn for the better!

I love how you’ve gotten so many different looks out of one striped dress! The turquoise and brown combination is especially pretty, but the yellow makes the whole outfit feel so cheerful. And wearing the dress as a skirt is such a smart way to stretch your wardrobe even further!
