Red for Thursday Moda with Elegance and Mommyhood!

I am pleased to co-host Thursday Moda with Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood one more time. Thanks, Ada! You can see our posts featuring cobalt blue last week here and here. I have been revamping my wardrobe in 2020 donating things that did not fit well, that did not bring joy (I don’t want to force myself to wear something) or that were worn out. My summer and spring wardrobe are really in no need of anything so I am going to take a day at a time, a week at a time and see if I can stick to a goal I made in this area till the end of summer. Today we are sharing red for summer! Ada looks gorgeous in her little red dress and ready for some fun in the sun. I love the flow of her dress and the print: I do not often buy prints but they add so much interest to an outfit!

Today, I am sharing a new Target skirt that I saw a couple of times on Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine and loving the red color,Β  I went ahead and ordered it (it did help I also had a $5 gift card to use at Target. I love the skirt with its eyelet material and bright red color. In a certain light, it might have a clementine shade to it but it really depends on the lighting. It is lined till the knee, maxi length and I am looking forward to wearing it all summer long. It is described as midi length but I at 5’4″, I consider it maxi length. I would say it is true to size or a bit small (I am wearing size small) as it does not have much give in the waist (which is elastic).

Now, if you have been reading my blog for a little while, you know that our family loves to travel. While I do love living in the United States, I do miss Europe and we have been blessed to be able to return prior to having children and also with all of the boys several times. When we travel, I like to bring back something to remind me of our time abroad and I have found that my favorite souvenir is something I can wear, usually in the form of an accessory!

For this outfit, I wore several different special items from trips to different countries. The tote, I bought last year in a little French market in the south of France while visiting my high school friend (we hadn’t seen each other in 21 years!). I use a tote organizer to keep my things organized and love the colors. I really should have bought a couple more as they were very affordable at around 8 euros and I could have stacked them one inside the other to bring them back.

Another special accessory is the necklace I am wearing under my scarf. I wanted to tie in the brown from the leopard in all my accessories and I had not worn this necklace in a long while.

I found this necklace in a little shop in Provence on my husband’s first trip to Europe/France. This was before we had kids and once again it was an inexpensive souvenir but holds a lot of memories from a fun trip to the south of France.

Now the top leather bracelet is almost as old as dirt, lol! I bought that on a school field trip when I was in middle school in France. Our class had won a contest by making a documentary about neon lights and we won a 3 day trip to Poitiers, France. I cannot find anything with my name in the US so I really do like this bracelet (and it goes with everything). The second leather bracelet, I bought on our last trip to the Republic of Georgia. If you are interested in reading about our last 3 trips to Europe, I wrote several blog post about them.

If you think taking blog pictures is glamorous, think again. At first I wanted to sit on this tree. However, when I put my hand on the tree branch, I felt something slimy: there were small slug like creatures on it: yuck!

Don’t forget to stop by Ada’s blog to see how she wore red! And let me know what you bring back as souvenirs from your travels.
