Olive for Summer with the August Sunday Showcase Link Up

When Ada sugested this theme, she mentioned olive for summer, olive street style and I had an idea in mind using the same black bodysuit but with an olive vest and white capri but just looking at it on the hanger made me think of fall. So I decided that I will revisit that idea for post in a month or so and came up with this combination. I have a number of olive pieces in my closet including some shorts but these newish Amazon joggers (a prime day purchase) begged for a day view. I love my joggers (I now have 3 favorite pairs made of a recycled polyester blend) all year long and this olive pair was a good buy!

This type of material is great for traveling (I regretted not wearing a pair on the airplane last month) as it is comfortable and dries quickly. I have found that I can dress up joggers as well as make them very casual depending on my choice of accessories and tops.

To me street style means something a little edgy and calls up the idea of black. So I chose black to pair with my joggers! Black chunky sandals, black bracelet wrap and black bodysuit (Amazon, here). This is my first bodysuit and I really like it: fitted but does show every bump, the fun square neck is not too low cut and the little sleeves are cute. I tried this same bodysuit (both in medium) in white and it just didn’t work. I do wear mine with a strapless bra.

I had to add a pop of color with the earrings to give a nod to summer time! I kind of wished I had a colorful pair of tassel earrings to tie them in with the clutch but alas, I worked with what I had in my closet. I am still holding strong with my no shop July/August!

I actually still have not used this cute clutch (remember I got it at Cracker Barrel last fall on clearance) in real life. It begs for me to take it to the beach. Btw, I did book our Thanksgiving trip to the beach and I cannot wait. School time starts in a week and it will be so nice to have something to look forward too.

I am trying to figure out whether to get my hair cut and colored this month before my birthday in September or wait till before our beach trip. I always like to get a little freshened up before a fun trip but before my birthday sounds good too!

I have been on a roll this summer with outfit inspiration and planning my blog posts, writing and photographing ahead of time and I hope that continues in the fall!

And here is another look at Ada in her cute olive shirt dress! I love the fit and style of this dress and I need to be on the lookout: I am planning to mostly thrift for the rest of the year and I am sure I can find a shirtdress with a little effort.
