Back to School with the Ageless Style Link Up

This month theme is back to school styles and I thought I would share an everyday look I would wear for school pick up! I usually am ready and dressed for morning school drop but as I have gotten used to sleeping in some this summer, I am not sure it will take me to get back into that routine. School for us started on August 11 and while I am excited to be on a schedule again, I am going to miss the laid back atmosphere we had around the house this summer.

I decided to share this pair of Chico’s wide legged cropped jeans and at 5’4″ they are longer on me than the model but still cropped. I had looked at this pair for a few months but they had not been on sale and I was not willing to pay full price for a pair of jeans I wasn’t sure I would like. Turns out I love these!

This is the 2nd item I have bought during my no shop months but I have no regrets. The material and width makes this pair comfortable even in the summer. Today I paired them with this top you might remember from the 4th of July Sunday Showcase and a pair of old sandals.

I feel like I might have been able to size down in these pants but I do like not having to squeeze into them. I just have to watch it when I sit as the picture above is not the most flattering at the waist.

When I pick the boys up from school, I like to have a larger bag where I can throw in some entertainment for the long car line. I usually have my phone, a book and a notebook with me.

I bought this reversible tote at Nordstrom many moons ago and this is the first week I have actually worn it on the black side. It has a wristlet attached on the inside where I keep chapstick, hand sanitizer and wipes. It can hold a lot and I sometimes use a tote organizer in it but I probably will just use it like this for the next month or so.

I borrowed my sister in laws’ car for these pictures as it has been in our driveway from a couple of months and it looks prettier than my old van!

that’s a cute embroidered top and it works so well with the jeans! Jeans are a staple for me for school run days too! 🙂

Hope your week is going well 🙂 thanks for the link up!

It’s been a good week! And a little less busy after Monday. Also getting some exercise in so that is nice too.

Those pants looks like a fabulous reason to break your no-shop month rule. I always bring a book with me in the car pickup line also and have been slowly making my way through that adorable mystery series!

I made sure that the items I got were not impulse buy but really thought out. At half price, it was time to get these.

I now switched to a purple tote a friend gifted me a couple years ago and put my tote organizer in it! Much easier to find things.

That seems so early to start school, but I suppose in a warmer climate it doesn’t matter. Here, it takes to long to get to warm that summer vacations are usually from Memorial Day to Labor Day. What a great approach to the challenge. I love those pants. And what a funny story about the car. I was just going to say “Nice Car” and here it is someone else’s car. ha ha!

I do think it has to do with the weather. It does appear that people in the North start school about 3 to 4 weeks after us.

I do love the cropped jeans, and have had so much fun trying out different silhouettes like these!! They look great, and that thing crunches up on everyone when they sit (normally). No worries…they fit great Mireille.
Funny how you used your SIL’s car too!!

I have really enjoyed them and worn them once a week since I got them so a good buy! Her car is much nicer than mine lol!

Love that top and those wide legged denim jeans are so cute on you!! I am thinking about catching up on some of my Podcasts I’ve forgotten about over the summer while I sit in the carpool line now that the kids are back in school!

Love these wide leg jeans on you! And the lengths is perfect! I’m only 5″2′ and everything cropped is pretty much always full lengths on me!
Such a pretty summer top too,and love that the bag is reversible!

I was so pleasantly surprised with this pair. It helps to see them on someone my size which is why I sometimes get influenced to buy something that is not usually me. But in this instance it was a good decision!

Thanks, Lovely! I always wonder if I should donate my totes but then I pull them out and use them and remember why I bought them in the first place.

LOVE this look on you. Your face is especially pretty framed by that pretty top with the floral details. You wear white so well. I have a pair of cropped wide leg pants in a very heavy duck-like fabric. Have only worn them once. But went back for a look at pictures of me wearing them and decided I like them better than I remembered. I am 5’4″, too, Worried that I just looked like I was wearing high-waters.

Great bag!! How cool that it is reversible. I need something similar for when I am on school pick up duty with my grandbabies.

    A+ outfit!!

I have another tote that I am wearing this week, it is lavender purple and is very similar. I probably switch it to something different in a couple weeks but for right now it is fun to use it again. Definitely have been surprised with this pair of jeans: I am glad I keep reaching for them: money well spent.

I have seen these jeans before, but I wasn’t sure how they’d work on me. After seeing them on you, they just might work! Hmmm…am I brave enough to wear them with a shirt tucked in and a belt?

    • mimifce

I just started wearing belts again this year after seeing how they help add interest and define the waist. I also have been tucking shirts more recently: I usually play around with tucking, half tucking or knotting to see what seems to work best. I have had a hard time with wide legged pants making me look a lot bigger than I am but because of the high waist and being more fitted at the top (and being a little cropped), I think is why these have worked for me! I say go for it especially if you can return them.

That outfit is super cute! Change to wedge sandals for a girls’ casual lunch. The wide leg jeans look great!

Lovely casual and stylish outfit! I have so many belts and don’t wear them often enough, by coincidence, I’m wearing one today. 🙂
