Ziplining with Screaming Eagles Adventures

I didn’t plan much for my little anniversary getaway with my husband a couple of weeks ago. I knew I wanted to have an overnight trip without children, something in the mountains and thought that ziplining would be fun as it was right there at Amicalola Falls. I did not book ahead of time as they have a no refund policy but knowing that we would do it on a Monday, I figured there would be some spaces available that day. Thankfully there were a couple of spots at noon. I wore my zella joggers (several years old) that had zipper pockets which allowed me to take pictures in addition to the ones the ziplining company took for us free of charge.

I originally booked course 2 (which combined course 1 and 2) with the option to add course 3 which we did. We had been ziplining once before about 5 years ago and after the initial nervousness getting off the platforms, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The 2nd course consist of 9 ziplines that range from 75 feet to 1000 feet in length including 3 cable and wood suspension bridges. Heights range from 20 to 100 feet in the air. It was a really fun course.

There were a couple of “bridges” to cross as well as a “tighrope”.  I actually liked the tightrope better as I felt more secure on it. The bridges reminded me of the bridge in the Indiana Jones movie, the one that breaks as they are on it.

The last course had 7 zip lines with the longest being 2,000 ft and 3 bridges, highest point 250 feet in the air! That last zipline was awesome! You could barely see the other platform. Once again you were supposed to be in the cannonball position to have more speed so you could make sure you got to the other side!

I really had a lot of fun and the two longest ziplines had incredible views and the speed was pretty exhilarating! Once you get the hang of braking (the guides “tell” you went you need to break), you feel pretty much in control. Our tour guides were humourous and fun to be around.

The company has another zipline course somewhere in North Georgia mountains that has an even longer zipline. We might have to check it out!

A bientôt!
