Thanksgiving Outfit 2021: Poncho and Boots

There’s nothing like photographing a cool/cold weather outfit when it is warm. But I wanted to take advantage of the cotton fields before they were harvested so 70 degree weather was it! We probably should have waited about 30 minutes later as the sun was still a little high but I had done some Christmas shopping that afternoon and I was tired and ready to get it done.

When deciding what to wear for this post, I knew right away that I wanted to wear this Target poncho or better named Plaid Wrap Jacket I picked up with a birthday gift card from my brother. My first concern was whether it would be flattering as it is one size fits all but I loved it right away. It is really nice and soft!

The boots I picked up on clearance (at Target of course) last year but they are back at full price here. I love how comfortable the heel is and how they dress up any outfit. You may have noticed I wear my hats much more in the fall: love how they hide 3rd day hair or how handy they are when it is a little windy. Too much wind and the hat will fly away. I have 3 fall hats (black, grey and this one) and I laugh at my concern last year about whether I would wear them. The answer is yes!

The nice idea about a wrap at Thankgiving is that it can hide a filled belly and it can be taken off if it gets warm but would be handy if you are hanging out outside or by the fire and it gets cool. Loving the neutral colors in this one!

Looking forward to Thanksgiving! We are going out of town but I will say, I really love where we live. All of the pictures I take on the blog are within 10 minutes. This field is less than 5 minutes from the house.

Don’t you love how well the hat goes with the wrap: it is really more of a blush/brown but it really looks blush in this picture.
