Signs of Spring

It feels like it has been a while since I wrote a non fashion post. I have kind of missed it but we have really traveled or gone on any special outings. Weekends have been busy or relaxed depending on our mood but one thing we have done is enjoying the sunshine when the sun is out. A couple of weeks ago, the youngest and I had a picnic by the river and I took these pictures. Most days we just eat on our porch or go outside in the afternoon to enjoy the mild weather but sometimes it is nice to have some pretty scenery to enjoy.

I don’t always eat healthy but this was a good lunch day for me. No oreos but this sweet little rice cake roll I found at Aldi for dessert. Eating outside makes everything taste better!

The first wave of blooms have already come and gone with our temperatures flip flopping every few days and a couple days of rain a week. I don’t mind as I am hoping there will be less pollen this year. I did wash the little pollen off my car today and took some time to clean the inside too. Children sure can me messy!

I used my app to try to identify some of these trees and this might be a star magnolia bloom. I was impressed with the size of it (of course it is small compared to a magnolia bloom).

A little color way up in the tree: I wonder if this tree is now fully in bloom. I haven’t back to the Indian Mounds in the last few weeks. It feels like I have little errands to run every day.

I love green grass! Our yard is still brown but soon enough the grass will turn green. That is probably one of the reason I love this place so much. The grass is green year round and it just makes me happy to sit in it and relax. I always feel like spring is short lived here as it gets hot and humid pretty quickly so we try to enjoy it as much as we can. Free activities such as disc golfing, hiking, picnicking are our ways to enjoy spring time. We typically plan an outdoorsy spring break and we are following that tradition this year with a trip to the Smoky Mountains in a couple of weeks.

Any blooms in our part of the country or world? How long does spring weather last for you?

A bientôt!

Well, it was 25 this morning and we have a high of maybe 50 today so spring isn’t quite here yet. It does tend to be a pretty short season since by the time it warms up it’s nearly summer. I do hope the pollen isn’t awful this year either but I have started taking my allergy meds this week just to try and get ahead of it. I can see why you enjoy this space so much. I can’t wait to start seeing green grass and tree buds & blooms again.

Yes to green grass: our yard is still that yellow dry winter grass. We’ve had a lot of rainy days so it should green up soon. Thankfully after a few high 30s wake up temps it is warming up some when we get up.

Lovely pics Mireille. What a special time spring is. The good weather started this week – it’s 19c (66) today, blue skies. It stays like this for a few weeks, getting progressively warmer. Thanks for linking.

Our magnolia blooms too. It’s such a gorgeous colour. We haven’t eaten outside yet, although we do have a marvelous warm and sunny week. A picknick sounds amazing, we really need to do that!

The spring weather and buddign blooms look lovely! I do enjoy eating outside but you have to be careful with bugs, haha! Spring and autumn are definitely better times to do it than summer!

Hope that you are having a great day 🙂

We have had lots and lots of rain this week. But, my daffodils are blooming, and many of the trees are budding. The grass is still that sickly shade of brown. It will soon be green as Mike will be fertilizing it and the sprinkler system will be turned on in a few weeks.

I think it would be heavenly to be where you are…until the heat and humidity roll in! I am not a hot weather person at all!
