Outfit Inspiration: Fun Pants and Joggers for the Win

These outfits compile weeks 3 and 4 of my no shopping weeks. I am surprised at how much I am enjoying and following my weekly prompts. I think the key for me is that the themes are very broad and that I am following them for only 5 days of the week. I think I will add one more weekly theme for next week and will wear create outfits around my kimonos. The first week of April is spring break so I will shop my closet for those outfits which will consist of a lot of hiking outfits (usually joggers/leggings and maybe a pair of jeans). That will most likely conclude my no shopping break at a little over 6 weeks. I really haven’t found any “holes” in my closet but I do want to add 2 short sleeves floral tops for spring and summer.

Fun Pants

I categorized this week as fun pants as these pants either are patterned or have some fun details about them.

After borrowing my friend’s identical navy pants (same as these, see post here), I searched high and low for a pair for myself and found these on Ebay last summer. I have worn them with a brown leopard top, black and navy and I have a few more ideas. They are really comfortable and flow in the wind and I like the drama they add to an outfit.

Both of these are Old Navy Pixie pants and I shared a post styling them 5 ways  with the floral ones (I want to wear them all again!) and the sand camo one really work as a neutral! Those can also be dressed up as seen here. Sadly, if you like these I only saw them in green camo and some plaid patterns online. Hopefully they will come up with some fun patterns soon. I was lucky to find the floral ones on clearance. That pattern is so happy!

I am linking the navy ankle straight leg pixie pants as this color is out of stock except in size 2 at the time I wrote this post but I really do think that the spring will show these in different colors too. This was one of the first non skinny pants I bought last year. Again these look great dressed casually or for a date night as seen in this post and again, I am thinking I should wear those outfits again soon! That is one of the things I like about documenting what I wear: it reminds me of some successful outfits that need to be repeated. Again another advantage to shopping your closet: I still have all of the pieces to wear them again.

Joggers

I really enjoy wearing joggers at least once a week. They are great for running errands, sitting on the floor and hiking. This past week, I pulled them out and tried to create a nice variety of outfits with them. You may have seen this pair of joggers in Monday’s post!

A day of grocery shopping, cooking and being cranky. Thankfully the sun came out after a foggy morning and my mood improved (the 2nd cup of coffee helped too)!

I’ve forgotten to wear my graphic tees lately so I am making a conscious effort to wear one once a week. Just like my yellow sweatshirt I shared recently, I love this peach sweatshirt a lot. It has a fun lace detail at the neckline and the color just reminds me of sunshine and spring.

Writing that post about my denim jackets has me including them in my outfits: they pair well with joggers! For those wondering, I am trying to slowly get back to running and I got taped for the 5K last Saturday and am wearing it for 7 or so days as advised. Therefore the strange red tape on my legs!

Picture compliments of my 4 year old! I realized I wore the same sneakers twice so I made sure to vary my shoes: these espadrilles are fun but have water spots and I am not sure how to get rid of them. It’s kind of a suede material. The orange top can be worn off the shoulders and is fun on its own but this was a windy morning.

I had forgotten how much I love the drama of this Amazon top! I paired it with my oldest and first Zella joggers and a cute pair of Old Navy espadrilles I found on clearance in the fall. After wearing mostly pants for the last two weeks, I am hitching to wear some skirts! I do have my kimono outfits planned and hanging in my closet so skirts will have to wait till after spring break!

I hope these outfits give you some inspiration to put together some new things in your closets. Any favorites here?

Love the last look with the pink top. And the floral trousers! And your place there! I think you start fire in it? Fabulous, here’s to many warm evenings!

I like both the outfits with the red pants best! I have been scouring ebay for a pair of pants like the first photo ever since you showed the borrowed pair on your blog. I’m thinking I need to add more colored pants to my closet!

Someone at church has several similar pairs, I should ask her what brand hers are! The style is so closet to them.

I keep thinking I want to add some floral pants, but I just feel like I’m wearing pajamas! I’m just weird that way! I love the idea of having a theme week…should I try that? Hmmm…not next week. I’m giving a presentation at church a week from Saturday and I’ll be preparing for that…eeeeeeek!!!

These are my only pair: I think it works because of the prints/colors and style of pants. I can see how they could feel like pyjamas depending on the print. Hope your presentation went well!

You have a great selection of both fun pants and joggers. I like your idea of having a styling theme to prompt you as you shop your closet.
    Enjoy your Spring.

You’re doing so well with shopping your closet! It does inspire me to rummage in mine. My favorites are the floral leggings and the yellow denim jacket. Thanks for linking
