Inspired by Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood
Last month Ada and I shared a monthly series of featuring 12 skirts. I have found myself reaching for them over and over and I was surprised how many I had once I counted them (29). About half were thrifted and I would say 3/4 are 3 years and older (that makes me feel better about that number).,Today I am sharing a look inspired by one of the ones Ada shared: I think finding different ways to wear something is fun so here is another skirt as a dress outfit!
This look of Ada’s may not be on her blog yet as she is catching up on publishing her posts but rest assured it will be soon. For this look I focused on the length of the skirt and the black belt.
I’ve shared this skirt twice, the last being last month and paired it the same sandals here. I chose a 5 strand golden dainty necklace which you cannot really see in these first pictures. I like the idea of not having to buy a strapless dress and creating one from skirts in your closet. There were several for me to choose from but I felt this one was the most summery.
You may see me laughing in this picture but just a minute before I put my finger on a slug on that tree trunk. I tell you taking pictures can be quite interesting if you remember my snake story from early this summer. There were also 2 utility trucks just up the street but thankfully I am getting good at ignoring was is going on around me.
I don’t typically carry clutches so I always forget how to carry one: I should have been holding it differently in this picture! As you can see in this picture, you can always add a color that is not in the outfit for contrast. I didn’t have a clutch with a bright color (like Ada’s green one) so I settled on this light pink one.
This was a good picture day: we managed to take 2 sets of blog pictures and I cannot wait to share the other ones… but it will be a while: they are for my birhtday post in September. I am taking advantage of good weather, kids at home and inspiration to write ahead and get some blogging done.
A bientôt!

Yes but you own clothes that fit your lifestyle. 3 though, I don’t know which three I would keep if I had to pare down to 3!

Ewwww…the slug!!
But your fabulous outfit makes up for it Mireille!! I think this works so well as a dress, and even though I know this trick, I don’t practice it enough. Thanks for the reminder,
XOXO

This outfit made me think of you immediately, Jodie, with the creative skirt-to-dress and the pops of color not in the dress!

I really only would do this for a date night but it is quite fun!

This skirt is so, so cute as a dress! and the uneven hem gives it such a flirty look worn at this length.

That’s what I thought, thanks, Sally

I love this idea, Mireille! You look so young and fashionable in it, too! I have to admit I really like that picture where you’d stuck your finger on a slug!!!

So clever, and it makes a fab dress, especially with the hi lo effect. I’m trying to push the image of the slug to the back of my mind 😱.
