As Cream as Snow: a Cream Winter Monochromatic Look: January Sunday Showcase
Wouldn’t this have been a great outfit to shoot in the snow? Alas, when we took these pictures, the weather was chilly but still in the 50s after about a week of gloomy and rainy weather. I enlisted my son’s help to take some pictures as he was home from school, but feeling well enough to do all the things. Since I did not want to go far (we had just returned from errands), I decided to simply take pictures in the back yard. I wore the same top and earrings in the outfit in this blog post last year but donated the combat boots and skirt. I like today’s outfit much better!
I have loved this skirt: it is soft, it is thrifted, it is comfortable and warm! I am so glad I came across it this summer and I am reaching for it a lot this winter. Do you know why I added the belt in today’s outfit? First, the cream of the top and skirt are similar but when next to each other so you can really tell the 2 tone difference. Secondly, my top was too long so after trying a couple of things, I found that tucking it looked better but want to give the look a better transition. Last that thick belt defines the waist.
I have enjoyed dressing up a little more this past month. It is so fun to put things together and dress up for church or just for dinner at home with my family. I am making goals for this coming year as we are planning/hoping for several trips. My goals are similar each year but I try to refine them in order to attain them or make progress. Saving and budgeting are always at the forefront after spending time with my family and trying to instill the love of God in my children.
Mostly, I want to continue to build on some of the good habits I implemented last year.
- morning prayers and coffee on the porch
- moving 5 times a week
- plan daily tasks and chores
- family and couple time
Healthwise, I do need to create a better routine for drinking water and adding more weight workouts. Prayerwise, I want to add some spiritual reading daily and family wise, I want to make sure to be more present around the children: phone put away when they are home.
My main budget goal is to spend less money on clothes (always a goal of mine) so we can save more than we have been. We had some large purchases at the end of last year so this year’s focus is replenishing our savings and saving for 3 vacations this year.
Now to link up for the first time this year!

That is a beautiful outfit! I just got that same sweater/top for Christmas (in a pale pink) and while I love it I do agree that it is a weird length and I am finding it looks better tucked in as well.

I wore it on date night and tucked it in too. I do like the fun cutout and the color.

Happy new year!
You have some good resolutions in mind. And what a good outfit, love the neckline of the top. And your earrings are a perfect match.

Now to stick to it. As soon as I am done linking up today, I will do a short Pilates workout!

Oh, Mireille, this is absolutely beautiful. I thought it was a dress at first, and the belt is the perfect way to bring these two pieces together. I bet any color belt (or scarf) would work!!

This is such a great outfit! you’re right, the belt was a lovely addition, and I thought this was a dress in the first outfit! You wear winter white so well 🙂
It sounds like you have some lovely resolutions for the year ahead too. Thanks for the link up!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you have a great start to the new year!

Thank you! I really was surprised at how well it photographed. I love that with a few tweaks, an outfit can be improved. One more day and the boys go back to school.

A happy and healthy new year to you and your family, Mireille! This outfit looks beautiful on you, I love the head to toe neutral look. So clever the way you adapted the sweater and skirt to look like a dress, those pieces are so versatile!

Thank you! I love how it looks like a dress. Yes both pieces have been really great ones. That skirt is so comfortable!

I thought it was a dress at first! Pairing these together with a belt was brilliant. You look like a bombshell!

You’re not the only one!

This outfit is stunning on you! I have most of the same goals. The water has been so hard lately!
mimifce
Yes, that water drink is so much harder than you would think.

A lovely look! I adore creams and winter whites. One of my goals is also to lift weights more often. Thanks for linking.

Today I did some weights while watching a tv show. I only do 5 lbs weights right now and even that can make a difference. Soon I will progress to my slighter heavier set.
