Thrifted Spring Layers
You definitely have seen the recurring theme of thrifted finds the past couple of months! While I do enjoy shopping retail, I have been wanting to save more for our vacations and one way to do that is to spend less money on clothes. The other way to do that is to not shop at all and to shop your closet for your daily outfits. I have been trying to plan out my days so I am not tempted to browse online or at Target or TJmaxx. I am happy to say that I have had a successful period of xx days not shopping for clothes!

Today I am sharing an outfit I wore last month when the boys and I had a little outing in Rome, GA while waiting for my oldest to take the ACT. As you can see from the picture above, it was chilly in the morning. I am glad I settled on closed toe shoes as the grass was wet and it kept my feet just a little warmer.

Everything is thrifted apart from my shoes. The sweatshirt is from my last thrifting outing last March and is really soft. I wasn’t looking for long sleeves but I couldn’t pass up the stripes.

These might be the only jeans I will wear in summer as they are not too fitted through the leg and they are cropped. I really love the fun details at the hem. They were definitely a good buy. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I sometimes do not mind spending a little more on second hand pieces if I know I will be wearing them a lot. The jeans were $12 while the sweatshirt was 75c and the red top $1 (I think).

This blouse fits my criteria for spring/summer weather: colorful, lightweight and flowy. I do find it more difficult to find short sleeve tops that I like for summer versus finding sweaters or tank tops.

So if I will be adding anything to my closet this summer, I will be a few colorful tops (teal, green, yellow?) if I find anything that fits my criteria. Until then I will try my best to continue shopping my closet.
A bientôt!

All your thrifted items are just lovely. That hem detail on the pants is perfect.

Thanks, Joanne, the main thing is not to settle on things but find cool pieces that you know right away you will wear.

What a bargain for the sweatshirt and top. But the jeans are also worth every penny!

All 3 pieces are definitely winners. Today, I went back to that little shop where I got the sweatshirt and left empty handed. I am proud: I don’t just buy things anymore just because they are cheap.

You are so good at shopping your closet Mireille. And it’s good to be open to things you aren’t looking for per se (like the long sleeve top) because it’s so fabulous.

Terrific finds. Those jeans are super cute. I broke out my embroidered jeans the other day but can’t decide what I think about them on me. They were kind of tight. Maybe if I could lose a few pounds??
I am really diggin’ sweatshirts these days. Even though warm weather is here, I nearly freeze in the AC. So sweatshirts and cardis are my BFFs. That striped one you scored is really cute. Stripes are very popular this spring. It will serve you well!!

I think my sweatshirts days are over, it is warming up over here.
