Green Pants and Grey Tee: Simple Casual Look

Why do I blog and have take time to come up with fun outfits every day? Blogging is a creative outlet that uplifts my mood and can brighten my day. It gives me a purpose that is not tied to my “mommy status”, it’s something that I do for enjoyment and to inspire other to enjoy this thing we all have to do everyday: get dressed. It keeps me grounded to something positive on harder days. It is something that I can have control of, what I chose to wear and share is an expression of who I am. The weather and occasion may dictate what I wear, but I chose those pieces to put together whether the idea was mine or inspired by someone else.

While I chose this outfit to wear, it was inspired once again by a photo on Pinterest. Both my tee and my pants were thrifted this past spring while in Chattanooga. I have worn the pants a handful of times this spring and was surprised to find them comfortable for summer too! They are soft and stretchy and as you can tell, they are pull on pants.

I wore this to accompany my parents to one of my mom’s doctor’s appointment: I take my friend’s Jodie’s approach to look a little more dressed up (no shorts) for doctors appointments for my parents. I want to be taken seriously if I have something to say or ask, and what you wear can make a difference in a first impression talking to a doctor.

My boys have been loving being able to take blog pictures for me this summer: my 11 year old wants to buy a 3D printers so he jumps at the opportunity to take pictures or mow the lawn. Taking pictures is a little easier and faster than mowing a large lawn!

We went to the Indian’ mounds’ parking lot for pictures once again. I usually take advantage of the sunlight or shade depending on the day and it’s easy to get in and out.

Here is my inspiration picture from Pinterest: not bad for a replication just shopping my closet! I was very successful in finding colorful pants while thrifting this year: I found this green pair, a peach pair and a yellow pair!
