Navy and Burgundy: Inspired by Melodie
I follow Melodie Banfield on Instagram: she is a beautiful, classy French young women who shares her photo shoots in Paris where she lives with her husband. She also spends some time in the countryside and is a delight to follow. Recently, she shared an outfit with a pair of burgundy pants and a short sleeve striped navy sweater in a photo shoot at a market in Paris. As soon as I saw it, I knew I could wear a similar outfit. Here is her IG and if you go back a little, you can see the inspiration picture.

I probably wouldn’t have thought to pair these two pieces together, so I was glad for the inspiration. Both of these pieces were part of the few things I bought from my friend’s online boutique, Valerie’s Avenue when she closed it down. I am pleased with the versatility of both. I talked a little more about the pants when I shared them earlier this month: they are part of a set.
My only pairs of flip flops are 2 pairs of Oka-B flip flops: I love the style of these and that they are indestructible and can get wet. It took me a little bit to get used to them when I bought them a few years ago, but now I reach for them quite often when I want to wear something simple.

I love my basket tote that I brought back from Spain in 2019. It really practical in spring and summer when I want a tote with space: I can add water, a book, a notebook and pretty much anything I might need since it is large. The zipper closure keeps everything from falling out.
Have you paired burgundy with navy before?
A bientôt!

That isn’t a color pairing I think of putting together either but I do really like it together.

Lovely Melodie. Thank you for sharing the link to her IG. She posts such prettiness. A welcome thing theses days.
Your navy and burgundy are very chic together. Those pants look trendy and elegant. I like the cut of the top. Dressier than a tee. Great outfit.

Yes, and then she does reels to share about different artists which are always so well done and informative. I enjoy following her.

Yes, I do wear those colours together. But my favourite with burgundy is aubergine. Enjoy your weekend!

That’s another combo to try!

This is one of my favorite color combinations in the cold seasons, and it’s worth remembering to wear it in spring and summer too!

Yes, with lighter weight pieces!
