Asymetrical skirt: Creativity in Dressing
When you have a month long series featuring skirts, you try to be creative with the outfits your present. There are still 4 more types of skirts to share. Today, it is the asymetrical skirt. You can really only see the asymetrical lines in the first picture as I forgot about that being the focus. I chose to dress down this thrifted skirt by adding some casual elements to it.
I think the 2 different directions of the stripes makes this a really fun skirt. It has some stretch and is a pull on skirt. I originally thought to pair it with a different top but it just didn’t look right so I chose this tee wich reflects the color of my espadrille shoes.
I thought the woven belt add a summery vibe as well as the fun glass pendant as the skirt is black and the shoes closed toe. I have alternated with sandals and sneakers this summer which is nice for not getting bored with my choices.
You may have noticed in the background the beautiful hydrangeas. We took the pictures at the medical center as we were waiting for our turn. Thankfully, the UPS man was not there coming back and forth this time. I felt a lot less self conscious.
Yes, I was less self conscious even if I was sitting on the ground getting my picture taken. I will say my favorite picture though is my first one. I do love the contrast in color with the orange and the black and white stripes.
I will say I am ready for cooler weather and wearing jeans! And layers! I do try to enjoy each season but I don’t mind if summer goes quickly! Do stop by Ada’s blog to admire her asymetrical skirt!

Great example of wearing black and orange/coral together without looking like Halloween! I like the varied intensities of the orange/coral in this outfit, and the espadrilles +woven belt combo is terrific accessorizing.

Gosh, what a fun skirt Mireille. I do think the design really makes it stand out, and the fact it’s stretchy is such an advantage,

I really rarely wear this one but won’t part with it because it is different.

I’m a fan of asymmetry in my clothes, including skirts! I like how you’ve ‘casualed’ it up here, Mireille.

Thanks, Sheila! I have been trying to show some good variety with my skirt posts.

This is a wonderfully fun skirt, Mireille! I love the way you’ve used the tee shirt and espadrilles to bookend the look! I think you always look so poised so it’s funny to me you’re self-conscious! I thought it was just me!

I think most of us feel this way: I think I feel like people think why is this non special girl taking so many pictures of her normal outfit! Thankfully, I usually take only 6-10 pictures so we are fast!

Cute skirt! I like how you styled it with the coral shades in your espadrilles, tee, and necklace.
