Take Time to Enjoy Nature’s Beauty

This will be a recurring theme this month as I share some pictures from the month of April. I have been trying to really enjoy the moments in nature big and small, whether it is noticing how different the landscape looks in the fog, wildflowers in fields or on a little day trip with the boys. In Georgia, in the spring we sometimes get mild weather like we have this year and we really enjoy those pretty blue sky and mild temperatures. Flowers blooms, the grass is new and green and the bugs minimal.

One new found hobby is bird watching. We’ve had birdfeeders at the house since my mother in law loves them and had 8 that she would keep filled up but with her difficulties walking on uneven ground, it has become my task to fill them. I did sell 3 at a yard sale because it is very expensive to keep that many full at all times.

She buys the bird seeds (the best is this Premium Songbird food from Walmart) that we mix with mealworms. We see such a a variety of birds! I’ve been leaving my binoculars out to identify the ones I am unsure of. Last week, I saw 17 different species in one day!

These pictures were taken at a park at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, GA. I loved this area with the yellow irises and the marsh!

I love the greenery and the pops of color. We took a short walk through the trail. My son had a cross country meet here last year, but we didn’t have time to enjoy the park.

There is also a large river but one area caught all kinds of trash. Apart from that unsightly view, the area was really pretty and welcoming. We enjoyed exploring and the boys enjoyed the 3 playgrounds. The see saw was a favorite.

A bientôt!
