Thrifted Gauze Dress
I started the month of July by planning to have a very budget friendly month in as much as I could with a couple trips already planned. I decided to track daily what I spent whether it was thrifting, buying something on Amazon or something for the house. I already track grocery shopping, bills and my general spending, but I wanted to write it keep a visual daily spending tracker. My first purchases were on the 1st of the month with a quick trip to Park Ave Thrift and I spent less than 10 dollars, for this dress, the purse and a pretty top.
I’ve already worn the dress several times including on my trip to Arizona. The lightweight gauze material is perfect for summer and it having no waistline is great on hot days. I am so glad the dress fits as I didn’t feel like trying it on the day I bought it, so I took a chance on it. It is Old Navy XS tall and I bought it for $5.45. The cute little tote is a great size and has a velcro closure and was just a few dollars too. I just can’t pass up a cute summer bag!
We took these pictures nice and early right after 9 and it was about to reach the 90s. I truly enjoyed our cooler than usual June, but July started on a high note with the heat and humidity!
I love a pair of chunky heels. I really still don’t wear any other type of heel other than wedges. I do have a couple of pretty sandals that get the occasional wear including a pair of nude heels I wear for wedding and special nights, but comfort is too important for me to wear them for more than just a little time.

What a major score with that dress and bag! You just have to try things on. I feel like Old Navy does their gauze as well or almost as well as higher end brands like J. Crew.

Exactly! Today, I thrifted a XL Crown and Ivy blue gingham top. I will wear it with more fitted bottoms.

What a steal. Love the light purple color of the dress and the easy fit. That bag is just adorable, too. I am still carrying a $7 straw bag I bought at Uptown Cheapskate last year. Have had a number of compliments on it. Don’t think I will ever pay full price for a purse again.

As always, I covet the thrift shop opportunities you have where you live! The lavender dress is so pretty with your complextion, and gauze is just the best fabric for a hot summer day. Also, that is the most darling and unique summer bag. Hope you have a great week and stay as cool as possible. We are having buckets and buckets of rain, with all the mugginess that goes along with it, not my favorite!

Lol! I definitely go often enough and come out empty handed enough times that I do find something if I go at least once a week. Rainy today for us for the first day of school: completely threw the afternoon schedules out of whack.

That pretty dress was a great thrift store find but the bag is just magnificen! I need to check the bag section more often when I go thrifting. I just rarely can be bothered with switching my bags so I try not to collect too many of them. But this rainbow bag is so cute, I wouldn’t have been able to resist it! Your chunky sandals look really cute with this shorter length dress. Adorable, my friend!

I am trying to get better at choosing bags: I think lately I like things that are more structured so I have a couple bags I will be donating this fall because I didn’t reach for them the last 2 years.
