Summer 2026: A Week of Skirts

Once more, I decided to shop my closet with a category in mind to create some outfits following a theme, in this case: skirts! While not as cool as flowy dresses (I’ll be sharing some favorites soon), I do prefer skirts over flowy pants when it is really hot. Since I have a great collection, I thought it would be fun to try to find some new combos once more. With a variety of tops in my closet, the possibility for new outfits is almost endless.

I wore this for Chik-fil-A cow appreciation day and added some cow spots to get a free chicken sandwich. It was fun to already have some black and white polka dot earrings to add to the “dress like a cow” theme. I love this fun XCVI skirt!

I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t too hot in this breathable short sleeve sweater over my tank. I wore this to thrift with my friend Rachel in Chattanooga. We had a yummy breakfast following by a little shopping. I found some cute snack bowls for the boys, 2 pretty seahorse plates, a pair of sandals and 3 pieces of clothing.

I actually had forgotten about this blouse (which I had thrifted a couple weeks prior when I took my mom thrifting). She tried the top, but the light pink print was not flattering with her coloring and washed her out, so I decided to try it since I really liked the lemon print. Finding that it worked for me was a happy surprise! This was an “on the fly” outfit: I decided to try the combo for church on a Sunday and after looking at it in the mirror decided it worked. There is no purple in the print, but it doesn’t matter: I think adding the belt really made the difference in this outfit between wearing something and styling it. I love this combo.

Jodie always talks about dressing in a professional manner to go to doctors appointments, so these are outfits I wore to the doctor. First up was an ultrasound for my son then the next day a follow up with my mom’s cardiologist. Even though the top is 3/4 sleeves, it is really nice and loose and I felt pretty cool in it. I hadn’t worn this skirt in a while, so I pulled it out.

I could have chosen shorter skirts for my skirt week, but these are some of my favorites. I’ve been working on puzzles on my bedroom floor, so I like to be able to sit in whatever I am wearing. This second outfit was again a new combo with loved pieces.

A bientôt!
