An Awesome Thrifty Outing

I cannot believe it took me 6 years to visit the Park Ave Thrift store in my town! Maybe it is a good thing since I was very impressed with the clothes selection and had to limit myself to which categories to browse. My friend and I decided to get together last Friday and spend the morning together. We hiked, thrifted and had lunch together. We have known each other for about 20 years as she was my student teacher before getting hired at the school I worked at. She was hired to work on my 3rd grade team. We have been friends ever since!

I found several things new with tags including this Simply Southern sweatshirt. It is so soft and I love the back design: it will be coming with me to the beach this November. I also picked up this macrame fringe purse: I couldn’t pass up the cute design.

I can’t believe I didn’t notice this skirt (Draper James, NWT) when I went down the skirt aisle. Thankfully, my friend Katie saw it, and because she didn’t think she would wear it enough to buy it, I was able to get it. I know that I will wear it a lot since I love my red tulle skirt! This was last Sunday’s church outfit!

I changed into my next find that Sunday afternoon to go back to the thrift store to find a couple blazers: a black one for a skirt idea for the 7 day skirt challenge I am participating in this coming week and a brown one that I will wear for our next Ageless Style Link up. This newly thrifted top is perfect for mild fall days with the lightweight material and the burgundy sleeves.

I look a little stiff and frozen in this picture: early morning and 43 degrees! The outfit sure is a thrifty one: the jacket is new and from my thrifting outing and is really comfortable as it is a stretchy material. I found the snakeskin pants a year or 2 ago at Uptown Cheapskate and my booties were a giveaway win! I am loving this fall weather and might need to pull out a few sweaters!

My last outfit combines the newly found crochet maxi vest with my Arizona thrifted embroidered jeans and hand me down booties from my mom. The cuff is also from Arizona from a small boutique. I enjoyed wearing this outfit and plan to wear the vest over a black dress next week, combining it with cowboys  boots.

A bientôt!

Gosh, that’s the best kind of thrifting day, when there are so many treasures. Now I need to come out there and shop with you one of these days,

Green with envy over here. What a haul!! Love the sweatshirt. Would wear that all day long. And all year-round. And the macrame bag is like new.

But that skirt. OH MY GRAVY!! Adorable. You styled it so cute with that mixed media sweatshirt. I love the contrast of ultra feminine with casual. So much fun.

I think I just thrifted a similar long crocheted vest. Need to see if I still have it or if it is gone. I loved wearing it and it was a flattering cut but I caught it on everything. Snagged it on everything I walked by. Especially when I wore it to sub. I was ruining it. And it was too pretty to ruin. Yours is perfect with those great embroidered jeans – they are thrifted, too, I think?? – and your mom’s hand-me-down boots. A+ outfit, A+ shopping.

That skirt is so fun: I was so glad my friend decided not to get it. That the hard thing about thrifting with a friend who is your size: sometimes they find the goodies first and then jealousy happens: why didn’t I see that first?
