Mother’s Day Outfit

We took my mom and dad out for Mother’s Day after church to the same restaurant we went to last year: La Cubana in Marietta. It’s just a few minutes from church, the food is good and the prices reasonable and there is a great mural for family pictures. While we waited for my parents, I had one of the boys take some blog pictures for me. I shared what I wore last year (here) and I wanted to wear something different this year. I chose this purple dress since I had not worn it in a while and I love the color and shimmery details. I shared it last in this post.

I did not wear these sandals at church but changed into them for the restaurant. I have found that high heels even wedges can cause me pain in my leg and foot if I stand in them too long. As I had just run a 4 mile race the day prior and planned to run a half marathon that following Saturday, I knew I had to be careful with my shoe choices leading to that race.

This mural is a lot of fun with its bright colors. I have noticed that Marietta has several murals, and my favorite are near restaurants because it is easier to take pictures by them.

I love being able to take a picture here every year! The funny thing is that my mom and I didn’t tell each other what we would wear, but we really complimented each other in our outfits!

This was the week my mom turned 80! I took my parents out to eat on her birthday day too, and we also grilled the that Saturday  after my race. Mother’s day, their wedding anniversary and my mom’s birthday are all a few days apart for my mom.

This was quite a nice weekend: I was able to take an overnight trip to Buckhead with my friend (we met up with 2 other friends to enjoy the afternoon and evening and have dinner out before our race. It was so fun to have some girl time!

By the way I am using my Maggie Snaps to keep any cleavage covered. I probably would have worn the dress without them if I hadn’t been going to church and wanted to be worry free.
