Skirt as a Dress, Western Edition

I love getting more wear out of my closet and one fun way to transform your maxi skirts is to wear them as a dress. This works best if your maxi has an elastic waistband. You do not have to belt your maxi, however each time I have worn mine as a dress, I have added a belt to define the waist. Since I took these pictures at the end of September, it was still warm, so while I wanted to wear my boots, I settled on wearing my sandals to church. I am still sharing both outfits.

Skirt with Boots

I love my boots and my husband has hinted that he will be looking for a fun pair for me when he travels to the northwest again! These tan one have been a favorite of mine and I love finding different outfits to wear them with. He did bring me back the belt from Idaho and I was very pleased as I was hoping to thrift a leather belt with turquoise accents. Score!

I have worn both the earrings and boots with my maxi before, it’s just a great combo! I really don’t wear this purse much because everything gets lost in it, but the fringe and patterned fabric lends themselves well to this outfit.

Skirt with Sandals

I added a picture with a close up of my accessories: this is my 50th birthday present that I chose at our local western museum. It really is pretty! This is the outfit I wore to church and since the AC has been in use, the thrifted denim shirt worked out well: I was neither hot nor cold but very comfortable.

Wearing a skirt as a dress is not a new thing for me and here are a few more times I shared some on the blog.
