Bohemian Maxi Skirt Outfits

Bohemian looks combine flowy silhouettes, earthy colors and often include details such as embroidery, fringe and natural jewelry. I often think of wooden, leather or clay earrings to add to my boho looks. Since I have a number of maxi skirts, I decided to wear some of them by styling in a bohemian fashion at the end of February. I tried to wear a variety of footwear, but since the skirts are long, you cannot always see my boots and shoes.

Colorful Maxi

I first paired my skirt (one of my favorites) with my newly thrifted purple sweater, but while they paired nicely together, the outfit did not have a boho vibe. So I changed into this crochet sweater and liked it much more. I am wearing some grey western boots and while you can’t see it much, the bag is a multi-textured (you can see it better here). I am also wearing a pair of clay earrings. I am wearing a beaded belt, but I did not like how it laid, so I took it off in the afternoon.

Leopard Skirt

I hadn’t worn this maxi much in the last two years, but I think this combo is a winning one! You cannot see the wide thrifted belt, but it adds another layer to the outfit. Surprisingly, it’s the only thing thrifted in this outfit (and the clutch). I realized when I wore this that my maxis are great for tops that are a little cropped because I can pull them a little higher. I will remember that fact! Today’s earrings are wooden and a gift my brother brought back from Thailand a few years ago, the clutch was chose because of the little fringe on it. It’s been fun to see which accessories can add a little boho element.

Tulle Skirt and Crochet Vest

Since this maxi has some earthy tan and pink tones, I decided that tulle could give off some boho vibes if styled a certain way. I added some floral Mary Janes and a embroidered flower pendant and my crochet vest to tie it all together!

Tan Skirt with Black

The star of the show here is the belt I found on our little overnight trip to Tennessee. I love how it’s going to give an extra boho element to my skirts, dresses and flowy pants. I thought my 2nd hand bag added a fun little touch with the beautiful red embroidered roses and while I chose wooden black earrings, my crochet red earrings would have been a great choice too. I added a Halftee under my top so I wouldn’t have to worry about adjusting it in church since it has a square front and back.

Western Boho

Maxi, cowboy boots, fringe purse, leather earrings: I love every little detail in this outfit and I was pleasantly surprised that my boots were comfortable all morning long at church. This was another winner!
