Holiday Looks with the Ageless Style
This month, the Ageless style ladies are sharing Holiday Looks! I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is wearing as I typically shop my closet for a comfy but special look for Christmas. Sometimes special might be my accessories such as statement earrings or shoes or a special top.
For today’s look, I am wearing a Target sweater I picked up last winter that I think says statement and Christmas all in one. It pairs casually with jeans (see post here) but would be pretty over a sequined skirt. Since I do not have such a skirt, I wore it over a dress since I wanted slim lines on my bottom half, the sweater being a little boxy and oversized.
My fun tassel earrings made a nice contrast with the sweater and tie in with the dress. My son and I were really happy with our last pictures in the cotton fields. The week we were taking these pictures, they had started harvesting the cotton in other fields so we knew this was probably our last chance for one last photo shoot. Since other people were taking pictures, it was not at all awkward to take our pictures for once. The cotton reminded me of snow and the sky/light was perfect.
You see these boots a lot in winter posts when I try to dress up! My only heeled and dressy pair! I did break down and picked up a pair of black heeled boots during the Target 50% sale but they had not arrived yet when I took these pictures. At $22 and my only purchase in 2 months, I am pretty proud of my no shopping for clothes. Sadly, 2 months was it and I have now been back to adding to my closet.
I am thinking of wearing this for one of our Nativity church services. My husband and I will be godparents to a young couple who are getting baptized on the 24th so I think this would be perfect. Depending on the weather, I will wear a sweater dress on Christmas/Nativity day for church. We will be spending most of the weekend at church with the 25th falling on a weekend. I will most likely switch to something super comfy when we get back home from church on the 26th when we will celebrate with my parents and brother and possibly the in laws.

I love that bright Christmas-y sweater. I wore a bright red sweater last year with some black velvet leggings now that I think about it… I guess I’m really a velvet leggins for the holidays kind of gal. What a beautiful backdrop for photos.

What a pretty shade of red this sweater is and it looks great paired with the black skirt! The black earrings are the perfect accessory! And I am loving the neutral color of the boots, so versatile!

That’s the perfect sweater because it can really be worn for so many occasions. And the boots too. Have you worn them with jeans too??

Yes! I wore the boots IRL with dresses and jeans and I wore them in that Thanksgiving poncho outfit earlier in November. Thanks, Jodie!

That’s the perfect sweater indeed! I love pieces that can be paired up many ways, and I also love red. I now thinking aobut how it would look with a sequence skirt, LOL, although I too do not have one. So smart putting the sweater over a dress! Merry Christmas to your family

Oh, yes! It would look pretty with a sequins skirt which I do not have either! Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
