Disc Golf and Planning Birthday Parties
December and January are hard months on the wallet in our family. After Nativity (Christmas) come two birthdays, 10 days apart. On the 3rd day of our vacation, our planned activity inspired me for birthday party themes for my soon to be 8 and 11 year olds. While in Morganton, NC, we came across a great park by the river with a fun and large playground as well as a full size disc golf park.
We came across a wonderful park near the river with a great playground as well as a 18 hole disc golf park. My soon to be 11 year old loves disc golf which he learned in PE at school. We all joined in after we stopped by Dicks Sporting Goods to pick up two sets of discs.
Thereby came the theme for boy #2 party. We enjoyed practicing and it was great walking exercise as well as an exercise in patience since we were sharing the discs. I will order one more set of disc before his party and will choose one of the two disc golf courses in our town for his party. I pinned a few ideas for cakes and snacks on Pinterest and see what I come up with.
You would think that with this look of concentration I would be good at this but I do need some more practice. I do look forward to some afternoon fun doing this as a family on a dry day. The weather lately sure has been a little wild.
My soon to be 8 year old will have a nerf gun war party with his neighbor friends. We will pick up a new nerf guns as his gift and we have a few more and the neighbor boys all have some too and I have an easy cake idea and snacks from Pinterest. We will also create battle bases by spray painting boxes.
My outfit of the day was brought to you partly by Target! The cardigan was a Christmas gift by my blogging friend Ada and I have been surprised at how much I like as I am very particular with cardigans. But the color is so pretty and the cardigan is so cozy without being too warm. The cropped camo jeans are one of my favorites. As you can see from these pictures the weather was mild in North Carolina.
A bientôt!

Goodness–this sounds a lot like my life! My husband and daughter’s birthday’s are in January, six days apart, so I feel that strain on the wallet, too. Because of covid we’ve been doing low-key celebrations with just the 3 of us. For my husband’s birthday he requested a pirate theme and my daughter asked for Paw Patrol. The weather in Ohio isn’t conducive to many outdoor activities. For my daughter (4), we are potentially going to celebrate her half birthday in the Summer when (fingers-crossed) covid is less of a threat and she can do something with a few friends.

That sound like fun. We usually can try for some outdoor fun as it can be pleasant or we might have to wear coats. As long as it is not rainy I think we should be able to make it happen.

I think the boys will have a great time! Happy weekend!

What fun parties! I’ve never played disc golf before. My kids always did. And, who doesn’t love nerf guns! I hope you post pictures of the cakes, too!

It isn’t too hard and this course was cool as it has tips on how to improve.

Ahh disc golf is so fun! I always forget it exists but should really do it more often. Also, your outfit is so stinking cute – I love that cardigan with the camo pants. My family has a lot of birthdays back-to-back after Christmas as well, although not as clothes as your boys’. The worst are December birthdays, ha! My dad’s is exactly two weeks before Christmas.
Thanks for joining my linkup!

My 10 year old managed to lose his glasses disc golfing this week: it has officially become an expensive hobby!
