Sunrises at the Beach: the Beauty of the Golf

We have been to beaches in a number of places and countries (but no tropical island) and I have found that the Gulf of Mexico has some of the prettiest beach I have seen so far. I haven’t been to Hawaii nor the coast up North but we have been to California (around Malibu and Santa Monica), Long Island, the Atlantic Ocean by St. Augustine in Florida, the Mediterarneen in France and Italy and Spain. So far, the only the most comparable and might I say more beautiful in my eyes maybe was the Costa Brava in Spain. All this to say, that we love the gulf! The sand is…

Silver Belles for the Sunday Showcase

Silver bells or silver belles? Why not both? Ada and I wanted to come up with something a little different for the holidays as we often think of red or green for the holidays and giving silver the spotlight seemed like a fun idea. Since I am shopping my closet till the end of the month (wahoo: this is a record for me, that will make it 2 and 1/2 months!), I turned to my shelves and hangers for inspiration. I was pretty sure I would wear this asymetrical top which I first wore here but what to pair with it? I tried several skirts but nothing I had was…

Advent Activities and a Date Night Look

Oftentimes when on vacation with some time on my hands I like to plan ahead. It might be meal planning, activity planning or planning for another vacation. During our vacation at the beach, I decided that I want to change up our advent calendar this year by adding service activities to our craft projects. I am trying to stress the real meaning of Christmas/Nativity to the children which is celebrating the birth of Christ as well as fostering the children’s empathy and spirit of giving. I sat with the boys one morning to get some input and ideas from them (both crafts and things that would be helpful to others)…

Our Stay at the Beach: The Adagio

For the 4th year in a row, we spent Thanksgiving at the beach and for the 2nd year, we stayed at the Adagio condos in Blue Mountain/Santa Rosa Beach on 30A. I will be sharing a few posts about our stay and the beautiful sunsets and sunrises but today I just wanted to share an overview of our vacation. First of all, yes, we leave all of the extended family on their own for Thanksgiving (my parents usually will celebrate with my brother) and the in laws come over to our house to visit my mother in law and head to the beach with just the kids. I didn’t grow…

    Winter Loungewear

While I had to bow out of the Fab 40s group, I decided to still share my lounge wear outfit since I had already shot it and I typically don’t share such casual looks.  We often dress up and the fall and winter are months when we aspire to be cozy and warm! I typically get in my loungewear earlier in the day in the cooler months so I decided to share my favorite joggers (I do not typically wear these out and about) with one of my thrifted sweatshirts. My favorite place to hang out even when it is cooler is on my patio in my egg chair. Still…

Booties with the Ageless Style Link Up

Welcome to our November Ageless Style Link Up where we show you that style has no age! This month, Bo shows the theme of booties! Since I have not shopped in a month, I decided to share one of my favorite pairs of booties I picked up last year at Target when they had their 20% off sale on boots. I have quite a few pairs of booties probably because I really enjoy fall and there are so many styles. These are my only patterned ones and I mostly wear them with pants and the occasional skirt. I wasn’t sure how much I would wear a pair of snakeskin booties…

Can it get any prettier?! Cotton Fields at Sunset Take 2

Last week, before the time change, my teen and I decided to take a quick walk down the hill to our neighborhood. As we were going down we noticed that the sun was going to set fairly soon so we decided to cross the street and bridge and run to the park with the cotton field where I took pictures a couple of weeks ago. And it did not disappoint. Since everyone enjoyed the pictures last time, I think you will love these even more. The timing was perfect! Unbeknownst to us, though my 7 year old got sick at the house while we were enjoying these views and with…

Thanksgiving Outfit 2021: Poncho and Boots

There’s nothing like photographing a cool/cold weather outfit when it is warm. But I wanted to take advantage of the cotton fields before they were harvested so 70 degree weather was it! We probably should have waited about 30 minutes later as the sun was still a little high but I had done some Christmas shopping that afternoon and I was tired and ready to get it done. When deciding what to wear for this post, I knew right away that I wanted to wear this Target poncho or better named Plaid Wrap Jacket I picked up with a birthday gift card from my brother. My first concern was whether…

Inspired by 5 Different Bloggers for Outfits of the Day

Week 4 without shopping for any clothing! If you know me, that is an accomplishment! To help me in my endeavor (I want to keep at shopping my closet without adding anything new till the 1st of the year), I am taking inspiration from other bloggers to put together some new outfits using what I already have. This means that an outfit will not be an exact copy of another but will be inspired by it and replicated in a loose manner. So here are real outfits that I have worn these past couple of weeks. Inspired by Living on Cloud Nine I don’t think I had paired a vest…

Rainy Hike at Fort Mountain State Park

Well, this hike didn’t go exactly as planned! I had seen two bloggers share this state park which was on my list to visit because the views were beautiful. I looked at the weather forecast and it looked like we would miss the rain but it turned out a lot wetter and foggier than we expected! The hike that I had planned with the views was actually closed because of a downed power line so we had to take an alternate hike there. Which means, we will need to go back to see those views. The first thing we did was pick up the pass for the day (I wanted…
