Casual Holiday Looks with the Ageless Style – In Memory of Mimi

It’s time for the Ageless Style Link Up and today is all about Casual Christmas Looks. I have been sharing a lot of Christmas outfit inspiration these past couple of weeks, so I had to be creative today to come up with something different! My mother-in-law passed away last month just 2 weeks shy of her 81st birthday and I wanted to dedicate this blog post to her. Mimi lived with us the past 6 years after she took care of her aging mom for about 8 years. She was an enthusiastic Alabama football fan (all of her clothes were Alabama collegiate fan wear), a gardener (she is the one…

    Fun Shoes on a Budget

Today, I am excited to work with Drew Shoe Corp and share with you their new site where you can shop for shoes on a budget: onlineshoedeals.com. Shoes range from $12.77 to $79.99. These shoes are discontinued styles from the different brands owned by Drew Shoe Corp and you may have heard of some of them like Walking Cradles, Ros Hommerson (which was formerly known as Walking Cradles), Bellini and Foot Saver. Because these styles are discontinued you cannot return or exchange them, but the Shoe Finder filters really help you in making a selection. By adding your size and width to the filter, you will easily be able to…

    3 Christmas Outfits with Burgundy

I like to wear something different but festive every year, so this year, I decided to shop my closet for some Christmas inspiration using burgundy. I came up with 3 very different outfits. More than likely I will wear the one with the tulle skirt to church either Christmas Eve or Christmas day. If you would like more burgundy inspiration especially if you wonder what colors you can pair it with, stop by Jodie’s blog post. She shared some great ideas last month! Burgundy Tunic This floral burgundy tunic is one of the older pieces in my closet. I don’t wear it very often, but I like the length and…

    More Holiday Outfit Inspiration

I am having so much fun shopping my closet and coming up with outfits that are festive that I decided to share a few more daily outfits today. These were worn in the past 2 weeks. I thrifted this fun dress a couple of years ago and I had forgotten about it until I switched out the rest of my dresses for winter. It’s fun and comfortable and because the belt didn’t come with it, I use mine with it. I love the contrast with this white one from Amazon and my thrifted boots. As an aside, nothing keeps you humble as your child asking you why you have so…

My Beach Outfits: A Warm Thanksgiving

Most years, there is a need for layers at the beach, at least early mornings and for a cold day or two. Well, this year, I packed a variety of tees, sweatshirts, joggers and shorts and even though I expected a mild week, it was definitely warmer than I had planned. It was great for enjoying the outdoors, but I sure wore my shorts and tees much more than anything else. Here is a recap of what I wore! Thrifted almost head to toe At first, I didn’t realize that my outfit was all thrifted apart from my shoes! This denim skort was really fun to wear as you wouldn’t…

Winter Outfits with Red Tulle Skirt

Today, I am sharing more outfits ideas with my red tulle skirt. My most recent post with red tulle fall outfits here links my other posts with it too. If you have a red skirt of any kind, you may want to visit that post for more inspiration. It is so fun to see how versatile a statement piece like this can be! With a Pink Sweater It is always fun to hear my family’s comments when they see an outfit that I put together that is a little out of the ordinary. When I came downstairs with this pink sweater and pink combat boots paired with my tulle skirt,…

White Dress for Fall with Blazer

The problem with taking blog pictures to much in advance (think a month and a half) is that sometimes, I am not sure which date would be more appropriate for the post. I took these pictures before taking the pictures of my pink dress and white cowboy boots in the fields, but thought the more muted colors of this outfit fit the later date better. Then I didn’t want both similar outfits to be posted too close together so here is an early fall outfit for late fall! If you live somewhere unlike Georgia and Florida where we still get mild days in December, you may want to winterize this…

    Western Outfit with Crochet Vest

I thrifted this vest early in October and I searched Pinterest for some ideas on how to style it. I thought that this would be the perfect outfit for the West Fest in town. What I didn’t take into account was that it was going to be pretty warm (85 degrees), and that most of the activities were outdoors. We watched a birds of prey show, the OK corral shootout reenactment and the Native American dance presentation. All of these were outdoors and while we tried to sit in the shade, I think I was a little dehydrated after running a 10K that morning. So while I am smiling in…

    Denim Dress as a Jacket

I took the pictures for this post a while back and had it planned on my calendar, but it turned out I forgot to write the post! So here it is finally! I shared this thrifted denim dress in this post last month. Because it is a tight fit and the zipper is a full zipper, I knew I could wear it also as a jacket. Because the pieces under the jacket are plain (grey tank, black skinny faux leather), I decided to step it up with my accessories. I wore a pendant from my grandmother combined with a necklace from a friend, embroidered earrings and fun shoes. It is…

    Fall Denim Days

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to wear my lightweight sweater like tops and pair each with a pair of denim and different shoes. It’s an exercise in wearing what I have and finding new combinations that I like. I was very pleased with each outfit and it was fun to realize that a lot of my denim was thrifted. I usually do not even look at jeans when thrifting because I get overwhelmed with the quantities and having to look through sizes puts me off. But if my attention is drawn by a particular detail, I do get drawn in. I am always drawn to fun sleeves when…
