Spring Trend 2026: Double Denim
The double denim or Canadian tuxedo has been around for a while (since 1951). I have seldom if ever worn 2 blue denim pieces of different washes together, so when I read that it was a spring trend this year, I thought I would try my hand at it. Of course, I had what I needed in my closet and chose my favorite denim skirt to pair with a contrasting denim shirt. I also shared some daily outfits on the blog last year for 2025 spring trends (bohemian dream here, petal pink here and pistachio here). Today’s outfit is the first of 3 trends I will share this year, shopped…

Embracing Spring Trends while Shopping My Closet: Ageless Style Link up
Spring trends are the topic of today’s blog post with the Ageless Style ladies! I will be sharing a few more trends this month, but today I chose to combine navy, lace and fringe from my closet which were all mentioned as some of 2026 spring trends. Both of those the purse and blouse were thrifted a while back and I don’t think I had paired them with this maxi before. I do not typically pay attention to trends, but I do like to see what is trending in the spring and seeing what I already own that I can style in a new way. I took advantage two weekends…

Creating Artistic Outfits: Finding my Inner Artist
Last month, my friend Jodie shared ways to pull a color from a print to create an outfit. One of her sentences in her post really stood out to me “this is how outfits feel artistic instead of accidental” and it made me realize that Jodie creates art with fashion when she puts together outfits. Here is her blog post and yes, her outfit is definitely a really cool piece of walking art. She creates wonderful canvases of colors in patterns through her outfits. While my style tends to be more subdued and a mixture of boho and classic pieces, I do love to have fun with outfits too and…

Bohemian Maxi Skirt Outfits
Bohemian looks combine flowy silhouettes, earthy colors and often include details such as embroidery, fringe and natural jewelry. I often think of wooden, leather or clay earrings to add to my boho looks. Since I have a number of maxi skirts, I decided to wear some of them by styling in a bohemian fashion at the end of February. I tried to wear a variety of footwear, but since the skirts are long, you cannot always see my boots and shoes. Colorful Maxi I first paired my skirt (one of my favorites) with my newly thrifted purple sweater, but while they paired nicely together, the outfit did not have a…

Pinterest Inspired Outfits Shopped from my Closet
Every so often, I pin a few new outfits to my Outfit from my Closet board on Pinterest. Typically, I come across them while I am searching for a recipe, but sometimes I do a specific search using tag words. Today’s 4 outfits had been pinned over time and I decided to see if there were any ideas I had not worn from my board. I love Pinterest for helping me create new combinations and inspiring me to go no further than my closet. Olive Base with striped Shirt I played around with the shirt a little to try to make a higher knot, so my son had to take…

Double Halftee Fun and Dress
One of the things I love about my friend Jodie and one of the reasons I mention her often on the blog is that she thinks outside the box. I sometimes wear my things in simple combinations and while that is perfectly fine, sometimes it is fun to create an outfit with a little more interest and spice. So today, I am sharing an idea that I copied from an outfit she shared on Instagram last month. We both own a number of Halftees as we have purchased some and have received some from the company, and one day, she layered two Halftees together! What a great idea! I have…

Lessons from a Shopping Fast
Mid December, I decided to take a break from thrifting for a month and a half and focus on wearing all of my sweaters and winter clothes, as well as all of the things I had thrifted since November. I was aiming for a clothes shopping fast of 45 days, but I ended with it being 41 days. I really enjoyed the creativity it encouraged, the fun I had organizing my closet, and the peace it brought to my mind. I jumped back into thrifting with an inexpensive trip, spending $13 (a lined American Eagle denim bomber, a navy lace tee and a black zipper knit jacket). Here are some…

Bright Pink and Purple: Outfit Inspiration
I had a little fun thrifting outing a couple weeks ago, and even though I had a little list in mind, I didn’t find any of those items. However, a few bright sweaters jumped at me, and after trying them out, 3 came home with me. All of them were in the pink/purple family, so I decided to share them here with a little outfit inspiration. Monochrome Purple I couldn’t believe how perfect the color match was with my purple blazer and my dress (as well as my leather earrings), so this is where these two outfits came in. I wore one on grocery day and the other for church.…

Outerwear with the Ageless Style Link Up
This is a fun theme for the Ageless Style Link up because we live in different climates: we come from Arizona, Canada, Illinois, Georgia, Connecticut and Wisconsin! So I decided to show you the range of outerwear you might wear if you live a little north of Atlanta, Georgia. We have had snows here in winter (but only about every 7 years or so and maybe once in February), so usually a real down jacket is not typically needed. I tend to wear a variety of jackets/coats in the winter, and most of mine are thrifted. I am sharing some of the outerwear I have worn this month. This year,…

What to Style with Pink Shoes?
When I asked for blog ideas for February, one of my most loyal followers on Instagram asked me to share ideas of what to style with pink shoes or how to blend pinks. I loved the ideas as I have 3 pairs of pink shoes in my closet and I love to wear them year round. The following ideas can be shopped from your closet as I am sharing some general ideas on how to blend pinks. First of all, I want to remind you that while you can can match pinks, you can create some fun color contrasts as well as pair pinks with prints and neutrals. Everyone can…
