What to Wear to the Pumpkin Patch: Dress with Combat Boots

Just as my post about What to Wear to a Winery mentioned, you really can wear whatever you would like to the pumpkin patch. A dress, jeans, shorts… Now when you blog, you might wear something a little unexpected like a dress with combat boots. Probably not my best idea as these were cream colored and it had rained a few days prior to our visit. Thankfully, I did bring along another pair of shoes to change into after a few pics as I probably would have ruined them. You can see some of the activities we enjoyed in my post (here). I chose one of my summer dress whose…

    October Favorite Looks

Every month, I try some new combination while mostly shopping my closet but also with some new additions. this past month, I stopped by Old Navy for the first time in several months and picked up a few things and also added a pair of plaid pants from Target. Some outfits don’t photograph as well as others even though I might have really like them so the ones I share on the blog are usually my top favorites while I share looks 5 times a week on Instagram. I called this my Old Navy outfit as the pants and top are both from there. The top is several years old…

Inspired by Rena: Olive and Stripes

This is my 2nd inspired by post in a month! Why do I enjoy writing these posts? First of all, they allow me to share bloggers that inspire me and that I have enjoyed following for the past few years and second, they inspire me to not shop but to shop my closet to recreate an outift. I always make notes (sometimes written most typically with a picture) of an outfit I might want to recreate with things I already possess in my closet. While it is fun to buy something new (as my plaid pants in Friday’s post), there is something really satisfying about digging through your closet to…

    Target Plaid Pants: 5 Ways

I was totally influenced by Jodie (JtouchofStyle) and Cammi (CammiAllen) to buy these pull on plaid pants when they shared them on Instagram. At 20 dollars and a non skinny cut, I just had to have them. I first wore them to a visit to the aquarium and thought about taking blog pictures (I would have needed just a few more) but we were all tired and did not want to get stuck in Atlanta traffic on the way home. So I put together a post to show their versatility but I did learn from my experience: while I like variety and coming up with interesting outfits, I really like…

What to Wear to Visit a Winery

I will answer that that question right away: whatever you want! I have seen people wear very casual clothes to some being more dressed up as they celebrate an anniversary, a bridemaid luncheon or a date. Of course, I took the opportunity of this outing to put together a fall outfit and while I wasn’t sure if I would take blog outfit pictures, my 2 boys were more than eager to help out by earning a little money! Can I first tell you how much I love this newish kimono of mine? I shared it a couple of weeks in this post and bought it with a birthday giftcard from…

Inspired by… Fall Looks: October Sunday Showcase 2021 and Link Up

Welcome to the Sunday Showcase! Once again, Grace from Graceful Rags is joining me while Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood spends some time with family. She will be back for the November Showcase. This month’s theme is Fall Looks Inspired by! Today, I am showing how to transition a very summery piece of clothing (a white sundress) to a fall look and was inspired to put together this look by an outfit Jacqui from Mummabstylish shared in a post a couple of months ago. I love how my son is flexible about taking pictures. We can usually be done with blog pictures in 10 minutes or less so knowing that…

Cost per Wear: Finding Multiple Ways to Wear an Item

A while back, I created a spreadsheet to keep track of how many times I wore something but I didn’t keep it up for long. Even though I do not keep track of how many wears I wear something, I do make sure that if I spent more than I usually do on an item, that I wear it a lot and find ways to wear it for more than one season of the year. This is the case of these Dahlia pants from XCVI that I shared a couple of weeks ago. I bought them with birthday money and with a coupon but I still feel like I need…

Flower and Apple Picking in Ellijay, GA

While enjoying a weekend in Ellijay, GA with my family as well as my brother and his family, we decided to go apple picking at the orchard we usually visit, R&A Orchards. When we arrived we were told that there would be only one kind of apple to pick (there are usually 4 or 5 different ones you can pick) because a late frost in April had affected the trees and 60% of the future crop was lost. To offset some of the loss, the orchard created a U pick flower area with zinnias, wildflowers and earlier some sunflowers. We chose to pick two cups of flowers: you could fill…
