What to Wear to the Pumpkin Patch: Dress with Combat Boots

Just as my post about What to Wear to a Winery mentioned, you really can wear whatever you would like to the pumpkin patch. A dress, jeans, shorts… Now when you blog, you might wear something a little unexpected like a dress with combat boots. Probably not my best idea as these were cream colored and it had rained a few days prior to our visit. Thankfully, I did bring along another pair of shoes to change into after a few pics as I probably would have ruined them. You can see some of the activities we enjoyed in my post (here).

I chose one of my summer dress whose colors lend themselves to a fall outfit and paired it with my light denim jacket. I knew I would not be wearing it much as it was going to be warm but I like it to define my waist and it gives the outfit a fall vibe.

I grabbed a bag that would fit my extra pair of shoes and my wallet. I think all of my purses can be worn as crossbody bags too. They are practical when you still may have to run after your kids. My earrings match the boots in color: it is what you call bookending your outfit.

Here is a closer look at the boots. This is my 3rd pair of combat boots. I like the edginess they give to outfits but 2 of the pairs I have are a suede type material which is not the easiest to clean so I have to be careful when wearing them.

We found this little spot in the corn maze that looked like a gothic window so I decided to use it as a frame. I was disappointed the boys didn’t want to take time for pictures but at least I got these two! You can see I had changed into my sneakers at this point.

Sometimes I am surprised how the right dress can be comfortable for an outdoors outing. In this case the length worked since I would not be sitting on the ground, the material is comfortable and stretchy and was great for moving around. You can see in the post mentioned above that I didn’t sit on the sidelines.

It has been a pretty fun fall so far. We have tried to have at least one small adventure every weekend. Sometimes that looks like a few hours of fun for an admission fee, sometimes it is just having a picnic or a walk or driving up to the North Georgia mountains. I love this time of the year!

A bientôt!
