Resort Wear for Every Day for the Sunday Showcase
Welcome to the May Sunday Showcase! I know it is still April till tomorrow but hosting the link up today worked better for this month’s blog posts.I bought this crop ruffled top with summer in mind, beach vacation and a future trip to Costa Rica. Of course, though I like my clothes to work for other occasions, so I wanted to style it for everyday or a date night. I found this top at TJMaxx in the clearance section a few months ago and it originally was in a section where you could buy matching palazzo pants or skirts. Sadly, they did not have the skirts anymore when I found…

Spring Thrifted Fashion and Shopping my Closet
It’s been my goal to see how long I can go before I buy a clothing item. On March 23, I visited a local charity thrift shop downtown and after spending a grand total of $7, I decided that all of my new to me shirts really completed my closet well. It was time to get serious and wear all of the goodies I had thrifted in February and March. In today’s post, I am sharing my favorite outfits featuring most of these thrifted finds. On that last thrifting outing, my goal was to find some colorful tops. While I put away a lot of my long sleeves top, this…

Navy and Yellow For an Outing in Atlanta
Today, I am combining a fashion post with a little bit of a traveling post as I am sharing some pictures of where we ate in Midtown Atlanta which was a really cool spot. A couple weeks ago, we visited the Atlanta botanical gardens with my brother and his family. The boys hadn’t visited since September so they enjoyed the outing especially that the day was overcast till later and was perfect in temperature. I continued with my mission of shopping my closet and added a thrifted piece or two and combined one of my favorite jeans for spring with a halter top and denim jacket. Both the cropped jeans…

Zebra Print Nine West Thrifted Dress
This cute zebra print dress needed a blog post of its own, so here we are. I thrifted it at Uptown Cheapskate (a consignment store with several locations around Atlanta) which has been my go to for dresses lately. I have found that they have a nice selection of brand name dresses in a variety of styles and prints. This one is Nine West and I think I spent around 13 dollars for it. The dresses I have bought there are usually between $10 and $20. The cute print caught my eye right away and I was happy to see that it fit the way I thought it would. I…

Bright Blue for Easter
I typically wear light colored dresses for Pascha/Easter. I have worn my bright yellow skirt one year (here), and last year I wore this pastel green maxi dress (here) as well as this dress (we have a midnight church service and one midday on Easter/Pascha Sunday). I am not sure which dress I will wear this year, but this one could have been a contender. I actually ended up decided to wear it on Palm Sunday which was yesterday for us in the Orthodox Church. I added a Halftee for coverage and a khaki jacket as well as cowboy boots. I couldn’t believe how perfectly this Target satin crop jacket…

A Special Jacket for the April Sunday Showcase
I wasn’t sure what to title this post and I was tired from a morning long run and a busy week when I wrote this, so I decided to go for simple. Last Saturday was a beautiful day so I took advantage of the sunny blue skies to take a couple sets of pictures. All of these pictures today were taken by my 5 year old who has been itching to earn some more money. I finally figured out how to have him take better pictures as he is short: he stood on a step stool! My momma gave me this beautiful Chinese jacket a month or so ago, and…

How to Wear Scarves in Early Spring
The challenge to wear scarves with Jodie and I continued (visit part 1 here) and I took the opportunities to wear different scarves in new and old ways. I did take a couple days off so I have only 5 scarf outfits to share with you. I also was pleasantly surprised to find 2 scarves for 10c each at a small local thrift charity shop where items are very inexpensive. I returned the next day with cash and picked up some summer tops which had been lacking in my closet. I am sure most of them will make an appearance soon on the blog. I enjoyed wearing my leopard scarf…

Casual Tweed Mini Skirt Outfit
A month or two ago, I shared an outfit with this skirt here and mentioned wanting to come up with a casual look with it. I pulled out my favorite graphic tee to pair with it. I am actually going to see if I can find other graphic tees by Bando because this thrifted one has really stood up to the stand of time and I love the fit. I tend to pack it with me on vacation because I love the bright fun lettering. I was going to wear my old thrifted white denim jacket, but after seeing it in the pictures, I decided it was going to go…

Scarves: Inspiration for Winter to Spring
Jodie (from jtouchofstyle) reached out to me a couple of weeks ago suggesting a joint scarf challenge. Since I am always up for a clothes challenge, I readily agreed! Then it was time to get creative with scarves as I knew she would have all kinds of fun ways to wear her scarves and I didn’t want to just wear my scarves in the most obvious manner. Of course, you cannot always come up with something new and sometimes simplicity is just what you need as the first two outfit prove. Here is Jodie’s week recap: head to there to get some more inspiration! Since our weather can change 30…

Clara Sun Woo: A Versatile Jumpsuit for Spring
Clara Sun Woo is a mother and daughter design team based out of New York. Their clothing collection is very comfortable and made of a soft stretch knit fabric that is easy to wear everyday and is exceptional for traveling (here is a timeline of their story). I was approached for an Instagram collaboration but really wanted to share this beautiful jumpsuit on my blog too as it is truly going to be something I will wear often this summer. The first thing that caught my eye when browsing was the halter style of the Grecian Halter Pocket Jumpsuit. I find halter tops very flattering and the back of this…
