Pantone Colors of the Year: Spring Dress for the Ageless Link Up

When I took a picture of my daily outfit for my solid dress post, I decided that this dress needed a post of its own. Then I realized that I fit the theme Bo (bosbodaciousblog) had chosen for the Ageless Style Link up for March! Her theme was to showcase a Spring Pantone color.

I purchased it at a local boutique on the clearance rack in the middle of winter knowing I would have to wait till it warmed up some to wear it. With our weather in Georgia it didn’t take long for us to have some beautiful weather in the 60s and a couple layers was all I needed to make my outfit for a cold morning, but a pleasant afternoon.

I do put several of my very summery dresses away during the winter, but I have several short sleeve dresses that I keep out year round and wear with a sweater or a jacket in the fall and winter. A lightweight scarf gave the solid dress a lot of interest. The fun print with the turquoise is the perfect match and was an awesome deal for 10c at the thrift store.

My corduroy jacket (a Cabi hand me down) is one I reach for in the colder months versus my denim jackets. I like the fitted lines of the jacket and the extra warmth. I had a nice selection of boots to shoes from, but I thought these picked up the orange tones of the scarf.

I actually wore this on Valentine’s day. My husband was out of town so I visited my parents in the morning. I had a simple lunch followed by some time outside with the boys. No pickleball playing this time, but some resting in the sun as my youngest was feeling a little under the weather. We had a nice homemade snack before a simple dinner. We ended our evening starting a game of Risk.

No matter what we do, we know my oldest will most certainly win any game we play (between his smarts and his “good luck”), but it is always a fun challenge to try to win. Peeking under my dress is my Halftee (code MIREILLE20 for discount). Can you believe that I just realized a week or so before I wrote this post that I am unsure I have been using my referral link when linking items that I have an affiliate link for (which is about 4 places). So unless someone is always using my discount codes, some sales might have fallen through the cracks. After 4 years as a blogger, but only one with affiliate links with a few brands, I am still learning!

Soon enough, I will be wearing this dress with sandals and a long pendant necklace instead of a scarf. I love the color and the flouncy hem so much that I was able to disregard that the waistline is not what I typically go for: I am not one for empire waists, but this dress had to many good attributes to pass up.
