Shop my Closet Outfits 1-12
My goal this month is to shop my closet as I have so much variety to choose from, it helps me be creative and it really helps my wallet. If I do purchase anything, it will be thrifted and spent from the cash I earned from selling a few things this month (I have made $50). Today, I am sharing my first 12 outfits of the month. You will see a lot of bright colors as I have been inspired by Jodie to use the hastag #brightcolorjanuary and come up with some colorful outfits to brighten my day. Dresses I don’t wear my berets very often, but I have been…

Chattanooga Parks: A Must Do with Children
My friend Rachel introduced me to Renaissance and Coolidge Park in Chattanooga. These 2 parks are right next too each by the river and near all the food and shops. Parking is fairly inexpensive and is easy to get too. On our overnight stay during the Christmas break, this was our first destination. I had spoken to the boys about the hill where you can slide down on carboard boxes and they were excited to see what I was talking about. This hill is in Renaissance park and it took us a few tries to figure out how to get going and how big the carboard piece needed to be…

Winter Date Night Outfit
I took advantage of my son’s “sick” day a few weeks ago to take pictures of this outfit that I knew I would pack for an overnight date trip with my husband. After our trip to Costa Rica in October, I decided that I would try my hardest to plan regular fun dates/mini trips for us as we had such a great time on our anniversary trip. For this mini trip, I knew we would go out to dinner than maybe see the lights at the botanical gardens so I planned a nice warm coat to add over this outfit. I usually try to balance out my outfits where if…

12 Days of Wintry and Festive Outfits
I thought it would be fun to share some outfits that you could wear throughout December and January for family get togethers, parties and maybe even church depending on the outfit. These are all outfits I have worn in the past few weeks and I tried to add a festive touch with either accessories or colors. I also wanted to showcase a few friends since we all have different styles, so save/bookmark this post to look back at next year so you will be ready with lots of inspiration. Day 1 Party with a Velvet Bodysuit I found this pretty velvet bodysuit on clearance at Old Navy the day before…

Date Night: Dinner and Axe Throwing
After our trip to Costa Rica this past October, I decided to really work hard on planning regular dates and the occasional overnight date with my husband. The boys are old enough to where my 16 year old can watch them for 24 hours without me having to worry about them. So I offered to pay him for babysitting (he just got a car for Christmas and needs to pay for his gas) and he did a great job at watching and playing with his brothers. We used hotel points for our stay at the Marietta Conference Center (read about our last stay in this post). I love the addition…

As Cream as Snow: a Cream Winter Monochromatic Look: January Sunday Showcase
Wouldn’t this have been a great outfit to shoot in the snow? Alas, when we took these pictures, the weather was chilly but still in the 50s after about a week of gloomy and rainy weather. I enlisted my son’s help to take some pictures as he was home from school, but feeling well enough to do all the things. Since I did not want to go far (we had just returned from errands), I decided to simply take pictures in the back yard. I wore the same top and earrings in the outfit in this blog post last year but donated the combat boots and skirt. I like today’s…

Exercise and a Blogging Break
Since we have 2 overnight trips planned for next week and I am trying to spend a little less time on my computer and phone with the kiddos at home, I decided I will be taking a break till the first of the year when I will return with the Sunday Showcase Link Up. I have many fun fashion posts planned for January and a couple travel posts. You might see more fashion posts for a bit as I do not have any travel content right now. I wanted to share the one thing I have been fairly consistent with this year as far as moving my body. No, it…

Stripes and Layers
Stripes are here to stay and they sure add interest to outfits. Today, I am sharing ways to layer them in the cooler months. Of course, you can wear them on their own as in the first outfit but they are perfect with all kinds of toppers. I am not sure I have a favorite way. The two tops I wore in these outfits are old. One has 3/4 sleeves while the other is longer at the bottom and at the sleeves. I also have striped tops for summer too. Standalone I like this particular top because it is a little thicker than my cotton one. The button detail and…

Wearing Dresses for Everyday- Fall/Winter Edition
I typically wear dresses in the spring and summer with denim jackets are on their own. However my closet has a number of dresses appropriate for cooler weather. Should I just wear them on Sundays? I decided to take some of them out of a spin in my daily routines and realized how comfortable and appropriate they are for any given day. Today I am sharing a variety of dresses as well as sharing Jodie (Jtouchofstyle.com) who often inspires me to think creatively with my wardrobe. I by no means am a minimalist when it comes to clothes but I do try to make sure that if something comes in…

Styling Skinny Jeans with the Ageless Style Link Up
Jodie chose the prompt skinny jeans this month! While I now wearing a much wider variety of jean styles than I used to, I still really enjoy styling my skinny jeans. I like them with knee high boots and to show off shoes as I did in today’s outfit! I can see this look for a semi casual holiday gathering where you will be indoors. I am starting this post with the shoe because I really love this picture and these pretty heels from Target have a sentimental value for me since I wore them at my brother’s wedding and I felt really special in them. I do not wear…
