Inspired by Shelly at The Queen in Between

I have been passing the cotton fields for the past 2 weeks and have been worried that the cotton would be gone before I would be able to shoot an outfit at sunset but my son and I made it happen. Then the following evening we went back and took some family pictures. I actually thought at first that they were soybean fields when I took pictures there in my white dress but no, cotton it is!

Today’s outfit is a copy cat outfit of an outfit Shelly shared on her blog last week. I love Shelly’s blog and she has inspired some of my outifts numerous times.

Prior to reading her post, I had not thought to pair my white denim jacket with my camo shirt so when I saw this picture, I thought right away “I can recreate this outfit!”. I have worn my white jacket more in the last year than all the years I have had it thanks to different bloggers inspiring me to shop my closet! And I am all for shopping my closet this month since I am refraining myself from buying any clothes!

My son and I were so intent on capturing the sunset and the cotton that this is the only full picture of the outfit that we have. My white denim jacket is cropped which is a fun feature since it is the only cropped jacket in my closet and set it apart from my other denim jackets.

No surprise that I am wearing another pair of Nickel and Suede earrings. These are the green cord ones but I could not find them on the website. They were part of the summer sale and the color might have been discontinued. I love how enlarging pictures of yourself make you realize that you have flyway hair: see my little triangle of hair by the sunset? Keeping it real!!

It was really neat to see the cotton close up! My younger boys said it looked like snow and my oldest and I were surprised how soft it feels right off the plant!

I really do love where we live! We have many opportunities to see beautiful sunsets, places to hike close by, we are within an hour of Atlanta and the airport and still have that country feel even though our subdivision is a fairly new development.

We are finally experiencing some cooler temperatures (it only reaches the mid 80s instead of 90s) so I think we are finally transitioning into fall! It is interesting how weather influences our choices of clothing but also our activities. We become more recluse and indoor people in our family when the heat is at its peak but start spending more time outdoors and visiting with the neighbors as it cools. So yes, I am excited for fall temperatures!

A bientôt!
