Sunday’s Best

This Sunday, I was very excited to wear one of my new dresses that my sister in law handed down to me a couple weeks ago. The dress was still new with tags and was a Calvin Klein dress she found at TJmaxx.

It skims the body without being too form fitting and the knee length is appropriate for church. I paired it with my Nickel and Suede saffron earrings, an old Target blanket scarf (cut in 2 for less weight and bulk) and my really old caramel boots I just don’t think I can part with yet.

I love that the sleeves are 3/4 so the bell shape is pretty without being annoying. I pretended it was warm in these pictures but it was 32 degrees when we took them.

One of my goals this year is to get wear my dresses and skirts more. I usually just wear them on Saturday night and Sunday mornings for church. I am trying to make sure the ones I have, I love and I am planning to add several skirts to my closet in the next several months. Receiving this one and an identical dark purple one from my sis in law was just awesome!

Now what is my excuse for not wearing this gorgeous red peacoat jacket last year? I do not know. I just pulled it out again this year and this is my second time wearing it this season. It is nice and warm and I love the burst of color. I plan to wear it much more this year. I have had it for probably 5 years or so and it does not show any wear. It was a great sale buy at Kohls after one winter season.

Next week’s post will feature a similar outfit with the purple dress which I am wearing on Nativity on Tuesday, January 7. This scarf would be perfect for it too but for the sake of variety, I will look through my scarves and create a different look!

A bientôt!
