Yellow Wide Legged Pants: 2 ways

When I was looking for a a white tee with details to replace my dingy one, I came accross these yellow floral pants at Ross. At $8.99 I couldn’t pass them up and took them to try on. My closet has become quite colorful this year and I am loving it. Dressing in the morning makes me happy and brigthens my outlook on the day combined with a to do list (having a sense of purpose and accomplisment helps me feel like I haven’t wished the day away). Of course, before deciding to keep them I had to think of several ways I could wear them. Today I am sharing pictures of two obvious ways and a couple more ideas.

With a white top

Since the pants have white flowers on them, one of the easiest thing to pair with them is a white top. As I was doing a final sweep of my closet last week and choosing a top to go with my red skirt, I realized that my white tops were not so white anymore. Yellowed armpits are not attractive. I decided to stop by Ross knowing that I could find something very affordable and probably with a fun detail. I lucked out with this fun tee.

I wore wide strapped sandals but I have a pair of khaki wedges that would work well with these pants. Sneakers could be fun too but I feel like the added height helps since wide legged pants can make one look wider! I have reached for my saffron Nickel and Suede earrings quite a lot this spring: they are a great pop of color. That color is not available right now but they have a fun citron yellow pair of earrings. I tucked the shirt in so the paper bag waist could be seen.

With a black top

The other obvious choice is a black top. I actually have several black tops to choose from but I settled on this black tank which I found on Amazon last year (can’t find it in my order history). The material is of nice quality and drapes well.

I kept the same shoes and to bookend the look, I added my black nova Nickel and Suede earrings. This time I left my shirt out. I do like that this tank has split on the side, I think it adds a little oomph to a simple black tank. I also like the high neck line as it makes it dressier.

Here are a few other ways to wear colorful floral pants:

  • with graphic tee
  • with a striped tee
  • with a solid bodysuit

Hope you enjoyed the styling of these pants: sometimes I think simple is the best! While I will probably wear them also with the last suggestions, I really like these two simple looks.

A bientôt!
