Old Navy Pixie Pants: I’m in Love!

A couple weeks ago, I stopped by Old Navy to return a jacket I bought in the wrong size for my youngest and a pair of wide leg pants I wanted to try. I decided to look at the clearance rack and saw this pair of high waisted pixie ankle pants in this striking floral print. Dressing rooms were open (wow, first store I have been in since Covid that has had open dressing rooms) so I decided to try them as well as a couple of other items. I wasn’t sure if they would work as they were in size 4 (I typically wear size 6) but Old Navy jeans tend to stretch on me so I figured I would try them. I have never owned a pair of their pixie pants but have heard many people rave about them.

While they do have some stretch, they definitely do not stretch on me. I probably should try a size 6 but I do like the fit of these. I have been working out for the past 3 and half weeks and am starting to notice some difference so hopefully my ab workouts will continue to show some changes. Having a partner in crime to exercise with as made a difference and using a trampoline/rebounder to do some home workouts has been great for getting my heart rate up, build a stronger core and breaking out into a sweat. Just a 20 min workout on the trampoline burns more calories than a 40 min run.

I ended up wearing this outfit for a Saturday Mother’s Day celebration with my mom, dad, brother and my family. I did wear some flat sandals instead of these wedges. This outfit is really budget friendly as the shoes (a Payless purchases) are about 5 years old, the linen top is a hand me down and the pixie pants came to $13 as I had a $5 reward. The cashier was great at customer service as she made me aware of that reward and took time with me.

My circle rattan purse is also a couple of years old and I am pretty sure I paid less than the current price for it. It doesn’t hold much but is a very fun summer accessory. I think I rotate my purses a lot more in summer as I have several straw tote and like the summer vibe they give.

I kind of impulse bought a few more pixie patterned pants on Mother’s Day weekend and I am sure I will be sharing those unless they are returned. I do need to remember to check out through my Old Navy account to make sure I can add up those reward dollars. But then, I also do not need to be shopping!

I am sure you recognize the location of these pictures as I have been taking most of my blog pictures there lately. The Indian Mounds give me such pretty backdrops. I have at least one post dedicated to the wildflowers there that I wrote last year. These weeds/wildflowers are called Hairy Vetch! Just like the pretty purple wisteria, they are an invasive plant but they sure are pretty!

We took some pictures on the small mound in the background and my son and I started discussing teleportation and moving sidewalks. Thankfully these tall wedges are actually pretty comfortable even walking on uneven ground. The things we do for pictures! At least though, we do not have to deal with snow in Georgia (to our greatest disappointment). Do you all have any pixie pants? My walking/exercise friend actually had never heard of them so I am going to introduce her to them. I think they are great as a work pants and they also have straight pairs which would be a little less form fitting.

A bientôt!

So cute! I have not had any but have heard great things. ON sizing is inconsistent – or it was. I haven’t bought from them this season. Also, their stuff tends to stretch or bag out. I am trying to get away from fast fashion but I should try these for work pants.

I haven’t shopped there in a while. These do have a little give but not as much as their jeans so they don’t bag out which is nice.

Thanks, Joanne! It is nice to have found something different than jeans or shorts to wear!

The other ones I ordered online worked out well too. I think they have just enough stretch to fit well but be comfortable.

I haven’t heard of pixie pants before but these look cute! the floral print is so nice with the navy top, I can see why you bought them and you got them for a bargain price too! 🙂

Hope your week is off to a good start 🙂

I never had either but then I hadn’t shopped in store there for so long. I really like them! Got a sand camo one and a small gingham pair too!

Thanks, Lovely! I was really pleasantly surprised! I have a few extra pairs I ended up getting for Mother’s day that I will be sharing too.

I love Old Navy. Budget and family friendly! Love this pixie pants you got. The bold colors and print are stunning and look great against your darker colored blouse. I also have reward cash but forget to use it especially in store when I am not in front of my computer reminding me!

I typically never spend it because I forget about it. I was so greatful for that cashier.

Those pants were such a good find! I always love a good pair of printed pants, although I know some people are intimidated by them. I love that you paired them with navy, and the rattan purse is so cute! Even if it doesn’t hold much. I have been wanting a purse like that for several years now because they seem to make the perfect summery/beachy accessory. Maybe this will finally be the season I pull the trigger!

    Miles of smiles,

I have been wearing the other ones I ordered on Mother’s day and I really like them! It is fun to have a different style of pants and the print makes it real fun. The purse definitely does not hold much lol!

Never heard the term pixie pants before but it’s very cute and so are the pants! You’ve styled them so well with the circular bag and sandals. The vetch is very dramatic too. Thanks for linking!

Thanks, Gail! I think it is a term that Old Navy coined for the type of pants. I haven’t heard it from any other brand.

I love the bright print on the pants, but I’m starting to veer away from skinnies in favour of the wider-legged styles out there now (these would be fabulous in a palazzo style). Would you believe I have only been in an Old Navy once, when shopping with my niece years ago.

    • mimifce

I have had a couple pairs of wider legged pants that have worked for me but I really need to be able to try stuff in store because some just don’t work!

Pixie Pants are hands down my favorite work pants because of the stretch and style. They comfort cannot be beat. I like how you’ve paired it with that pretty blue top.

    • mimifce

Yes, not sure if they had them when I taught but they would have been great. I think they came out with them later.

    • mimifce

I am not used to wear such a bold pattern but the colors called to me. I will be wearing them with a tank next, I think.

ON dressing rooms were open? shocker? I have stopped in person shopping in my area because of closed dressing rooms. It’s pointless and the whole thing makes me so angry. If I can use a public toilet, I can use a dressing room. Anyway, enough ranting, Love your outfit. One word of caution though with ON pixie pants. Do not throw them in the dryer…they shrink! I ruined a pair of mine because they shrank in the dryer.

    • mimifce

Thanks for letting me know: I will hang dry them! I can’t afford for them to shrink: they sure wouldn’t fit then! And yes, I was pleasantly surprised the dressing room were open there!

I really like the print on these pants and this outfit is so pretty! I have a bunch of different pixie pants that I have accumulated over the years shopping at Old Navy. I haven’t worn them much because I was not liking the fit on me, but I do need to get them out and try again. I love that photo of you sitting on the steps! So gorgeous, my friend. Thanks for linking.

Thanks, Shelbee! I now have 4 pairs and that was the last of my shopping for a while I hope. Love having some patterned pants now.
