Fall Looks and Inspiration

If you live in the South of the US, fall can mean all kinds of weather. We have had days in the mid 80s, others in the 40s and 60s. Thanksgiving might be short sleeves or you might have to bundle up in a nice warm sweater. So you will notice that some of these outfits could be worn in the spring or others could be considered winter looks under a coat. I will say that fall in my favorite season as you can wear such a variety of clothes. I am sharing here some of my favorites from the past month or so. Hopefully these will be inspiration for you to create some fun fall looks.

Warm Days

When it is too warm for layers, you add a fall touch with printed shoes or your accessories such as a scarf or a fun bag. I actually haven’t worn scarves but a couple of times this fall and have slimmed down my collection keeping only my favorites. I replaced my Loft wide leg jeans with the above Universal Thread pair (2nd hand) and cut an inch of the jeans on the right since I felt the previous length was awkward. I am making my wardrobe work for me!

Light Sweater Days

I have been thrifted Free People tops at my local Uptown Cheapskate store and the 2 above, I found this summer. My husband loved the off the shoulder outfit so I will definitely be wearing that pretty mauve top regularly. The grey sweatshirt has a pretty trim from the shoulder to the wrist which you can see in the outfit below.

Layers

Sometimes a cold day calls for a vest or a shacket! In the fall I tend to wear layers in the morning when it is cooler and shed them in the afternoon. I wore the 2 above outfits on days I went to relax and enjoy the scenery at the Indian Mounds.

Long Sweaters

I have had this leopard sweater for several years now and love the length which works well with leggings. Both it and the blush sweater were Amazon finds.

Sweater 2 Ways

I keep a number of my spring/summer dresses in my closet year round so I can layer sweaters and boots during cooler months. The first look I wore to church one Sunday then changed it up for the rest of the day. With the dress, I tucked the front of sweater in a belt. The Target knit sweater in XS, it is very soft and cozy. The knit is large so you may need a layer under on very cold days.
