Inspired by Jacqui at Mummabstylish

When I first started blogging 4 years ago, I used to find it difficult to come up with weekly fashion posts but this past year, I have been very inspired! I have been writing posts in advance as I come up with ideas for outfits shopping my closet, wearing a new piece or being inspired to put an outfit together after seeing a fun outfit on someone. I’ve also been gifted pieces this year and have typically shared those items on the blog too. Last month, I shared an outfit inspired by Cammi (read here) and today, my inspiration came all the way from the UK when Jacqui shared an outfit on IG and in a blog post here with a cute embroidered top.

I thought right away of my thrifted Caite and Kyla top and decided to pair it with my wide leg flared jeans. I absolutely loved how this outfit turned out and wore it to one of my boys school open house.

I accessorized with a pair of rattan earrings (from that same set I shared last month), a cute clutch I have had for several years and my Target squeaky sandals. These sandals are comfortable and look cute but they sure squeak. The squeak was mentioned in reviews: it doesn’t bother me much but I guess I am not sure I would recommend them because of that.

My mom gave me the paper bead bracelet and I have enjoyed it’s uniqueness. My apologies for the haziness in the pictures: I am not sure if it was the humidity at that time of the day (these pictures were taken in our backyard) or because it was sunny and the air quality was not great.

Yes, it is after labor day and yes, I will be wearing white jeans all through fall and winter. I love the crisp contrast white creates in an outfit and it pairs well in the fall with neutrals and jewel tones.

I’ve been working hard on being conscious of where my money goes the past couple of months and finding ways to be creative in my closet by being inspired by others is a free fun activity in my book. Getting dressed is not a chore, it’s a way to express myself and enjoy life.

I probably wouldn’t have put all of these pieces together to create this pretty white outfit if not for Jacqui, so thank you, Jacqui! Inspiring me across the ocean. If you do not follow her blog, be sure to visit her: it is a treat to read about her life and family and see all the pretty outfits she puts together.

A bientôt!
