Winter Black and White Outfit

I usually wear either an all white or an all black monochromatic look, but I do not typically pair the two colors together. When I thrifted this fun vest for a couple of dollars, I was both attracted by the polka dot pattern and the weight of it. It is also not too puffy. I have found vests to be practical especially if I am walking outside because I do not overheat in them. Today’s look is an ode to snow: my decorative sleigh is my call to snow this year. Georgia has not had a real snow in 6 years and we are ready!

The black hoodie henley is a hand me down from my friend and I actually had forgotten about these black leggings: I believe they might be from Amazon a couple of years ago. I thought my white earrings almost looked like snowmen, so I chose them to compliment this outfit.

My little sleigh is a decorative piece that I put at my front door in December. It originally came with a live wreath and I keep it in my garage when I do not use it. I love that my Christmas decor is pretty much complete and I have no plans to buy anything this season.

Why am I hoping it snows this year? Because it’s fun! Our whole family loves to play outside in the snow, there are hills to sled down, and we have the gear.

My boys like hot cocoa in the cold months, layering up around the fire outside and getting cozy in their blankets. I enjoy having the opportunity to layer up and wearing “new” things that don’t get worn during most of the year.

Do you like winter? Are there things you look forward in the winter months?

A bientôt!

OMG, what a fabulous vest. I have one similar in yellow and white and love using it as part of a print mixing look.

I love quilted vests in the winter and wear them all the time. But I haven’t seen a polka dot one like that; it’s really cute! I do like winter, even the cold and snow we get up here, I just wish it didn’t go on quite so long! (And frankly I don’t think the extremely frigid days of late January/early February are at all necessary!)

Last year, we had a couple of days that stayed in the teens which is very unusual in Georgia. We had to put a blanket over the front door and some rags through the doors to the garage and back porch to help with the cold drafts: not pleasant. But otherwise, I do enjoy brisk days and cooler days where I can dress appropriately.

I love a black and white outfit, and the polka dot vest is so cheerful in winter! Quilted vests and puffers are all the rage this season, and are a great choice for an outter layer in milder winter temperatures. When it gets really cold, I layer one under my winter coat. I hope you and your family are having a wonder holiday, whether you get snow or not! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Di! Vests are a nice windbreaker too. I wore one on a walk yesterday and it was perfect to cut the wind.

I hope we are able to have some sledding time too! Last winter we oddly only had a bit of snow and it wasn’t enough for sledding. Fingers crossed for us both! Love your polka dot vest. It’s so cute!

Yes! My boys love it so much and so do I! My hubby did break a rib on our vacation last winter, sledding, so we need to watch out for his theatrics, lol!

I have never seen vest looking so playful and not just utilitarian. It never snows in Sydney and I don’t miss it for a bit. When I was living in Urkaine, the winter was the most miserable time of the year and I am very happy not to experience it again. Hope it wll be snowing your end and your family will have a lot fun with it 🙂 Anna

I think a lot of people with harsh winters do not miss the snow =). Where I grew up in the south of France, it was like here: we only got a nice snow once every 6 years or so.
