Winter White with Brights

I haven’t really worn my white jeans much this winter, but I have always loved a winter white monochromatic look or a white with a bright look. It makes me think of snow, of crisp clear air and it also is a little ode to spring coming. Today’s outfit features a newer sweater but the rest of my outfit was shopped from my closet.

I still cannot believe I didn’t wear these boots for years. Now I pair them with everything. I took a couple close up pictures of my accessories as I really like all of these pieces.

The earrings were a birthday gift from my brother a couple years ago. Funny story: I lost one of them in my yard one summer and it took me several days to find it! The turquoise ring is a new favorite I found in a local antique shop.

The sweater is cropped but long enough not to show skin with higher waisted pants. It is perfect to layer over a dress (I did that the morning of the pictures, but didn’t get a picture.

While I have never gotten my colors done, I know that bright colors like bright pink, aqua blue look good on me as well as jewel tones. It would be really interesting to see which colors don’t do me any favors. I usually try to look at myself in different lighting when trying things to make good decisions. This blue caught my eye!

Another thing I have noticed when buying clothes is that a v neck is usually my preference: I do have some crew neck sweaters and tops, but I definitely don’t wear them as much and if it is a particularly high crew neck, I might just skip it. My favorite neckline is a square neckline.

This was a fun outfit to put together and one that translated exactly as I imagined it. The past few weeks, I have noticed how much mood influences my outfits. Lack of sleep and stress has me choosing leggings and sweatshirts or tunics while I put a lot more thought into my choices on days I have more content and less worried.
