Shorts for Summer: Casual but Stylish
Hello Summer! I was grateful for a longer spring than usual here in Georgia, but now that it is hot, hot, hot, I am wearing quite the variety of outfits, from maxi dresses to flowy pants to shorts. Today, I wanted to share an outfit I wore a Sunday afternoon last month. I wanted to create a comfortable outfit that was a casual but also stylish: I wanted to look put together without letting go of comfort. This is the outfit I came up with and most of the pieces I am wearing are thrifted.

These cute sandals finally bit the dust and this was the last time I wore them. I do love my colorful sandals in the summer, so I will be looking to replace them. For a pair of Target sandals, these really lasted quite a while: I would guess I had them for 7 years.

What makes these striped shorts comfortable, but still look stylish? They have a stretchy waist and the buttons are decorative only. I thrifted the shorts last year and replaced the gold buttons (one was missing) with these black ones. The black buttons actually looked more expensive than the original ones. Stripes are a classic and I love this pair.

The cute little purse is a recent thrift find: I went thrifting in search of yellow items for an upcoming post I will be collaborating with Jodie and found 3 things I wanted to bring home. This purse was impossible to pass up at $5.45 once I realized it would find my phone and wallet! Honorable mention to my chambray popover that I found the month prior. I really struggle with finding tops that are cute, fit well and are not too frilly. This popover fits the bill.
My fun earrings tie in with the yellow: they are still a favorite when I want a fun and whimsical accessory. I just looked through my bracelets to find some matching ones. As I wrote this post, I realized that the purse can basically be worn as a belt bag: the snaps can create a longer or shorter strap and it does fit (albeit pretty loosely) around my waist. The strap is interchangeable too.

Since I matched the fire hydrant, I decided it would be fun to take a picture next to it. Now I am thinking I should try putting a dressy look with these shorts: heels, a white blouse, gold minimal accessories maybe?
A bientôt!

The earrings are really fun! I have a bright green pair too!

I love that you switched out the buttons…that’s such an easy fix and can change the looks of lots of things.
I had to throw out a pair of sandals recently too…the dry air causes even our shoes to dry out and crack. I used to think I was hard on my shoes, but it’s also the environment.

And it was so comfortable!

This is such a cute outfit! I love blue and yellow together. I’d say 7 years is pretty good for a pair of sandals.
