Casual Christmas Outfit
I don’t typically pair oversized with poofy for an outfit and I am still unsure if I really like this look, but I decided to share it anyways since we took the pictures. I think this could work as a casual Christmas outfit. My original idea was to tuck this oversized sweater into the skirt, however it was too large to do that. At the end I will share a picture with the top I ended up wearing it for Thanksgiving, instead of wearing it like this. We took these pictures at the Adagio condos at the beach during our Thanksgiving break. The day was cooler than it had been, hovering in the 60s in the afternoon, but it started cold at around 48 degrees.

What I like about this is that if you are wearing it on a day that you will be eating and sitting on the floor, it will be very comfortable. No tight waistbands and the skirt has enough flow and stretch to allow you to sit on the floor.
I specifically went thrifting a few weeks before our beach trip to find some sweaters and I shared another find soon.

I only brought sneakers with me (and a pair of flip flops), so I chose my pink ones to wear. I wanted to wear a scarf, but it really just added more bulk to the outfit, so I passed.

Here is how I wore it for Thanksgiving dinner and here some other past Christmas looks with the skirt: this has been been a fun thrift find.
A bientôt!

But I like the colours together. Perhaps if you had done a front thuck it would have worked. Beautiful skirt though!

Yes! I have another great sweater or two I am going to try!

The pieces are perfect. This is one of those sweaters that would work great by cropping it by tucking it under a belt (I use my beltless belt) to change up the proportions.
In all reality…the 2 could work fine together as is…maybe with a long, big necklace (or a couple of long necklaces) to give more intention.
Or heck, if the waistband is stretchy enough, pull it up over the girls to shorten the skirt portion…
But I think it has potential…it just need to have some play time and experimenting.

Oh, I like the idea of pulling up the skirt: yes, I think the proportions would work good like that!

Who would have thought a polkadot tulle skirt would be so versatile! All cute outfits-I especially like your Thanksgiving at the beach look with the striped T-shirt. This is a beautiful spot, a lovely Thanksgiving getaway. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good weekend!

Yes, it was perfect with that tee!

I really like the two together, but I see what you’re saying about the bulk. I think Jodie’s suggestions are good. How about belting it over the sweater at your natural waist? You’d probably have to play around with where the gathers are so you don’t have too many at your waist. Super cute!

I can tell by the way your posing/sitting for the photos that the outfit is super comfy for you…my number 1 requirement of any outfit. 🙂 The skirt is so pretty! I love all the ways you style it.

Comfy is always a big plus for me! 😉
I like the color combo together, down to the pink sneakers.

While not my favorite, it has some potential so I will play around with it.

A perfect outfit for a festive day. I generally choose an oversized top over leggings to feel comfortable on the odd day where I enjoy eating too much! Thanks for linking

Me too! That is also my typical Sunday afternoon wear after church.

I am going to rework this outfit next week too by switching the grey sweater for another one.

Hmm I see what you mean. I love the idea of the combo, though. Maybe if you hiked the skirt up more under the sweater? So it’s above your knees? I think that would help the proportions and that was kind of a trendy look, at least last fall. Love the skirt!!
