Yellow for Spring: Daily Outfits
When I realized that yellow was a color that I wore a lot in the spring, I decided to do a round up of the outfits I wore. It appears that I like to combine yellow with blue a lot! These are all outfits I wore this spring.

Here’s a perfect example of how I like to wear yellow. I played around with this thrifted sleeveless top and decided to be the boss of my clothes like Jodie always inspires us, and layered a shirt under. Since the sleeves usually give me a problem with not staying up, I used my Maggie Snaps (I think she went out of business), small magnets to keep them up.

A very similar color combo for church: I love this thrifted dress that got highlighted last summer in this post! After looking at those pictures, I really need to wear it again either solo or with the cute denim vest. I love halter top dresses and blouses.

This Modcloth skirt is a favorite too. I have had it at least 7 years. I worked hard on finding a new way to wear it because I have worn it a lot over the years in a variety of ways. I do like to pair yellow with bright pink too.

These yellow pants are actually a little brighter in real life. Again, I paired them with blue! I will need to change that up next time!

I wore this to my son’s robotics banquet. I decide to add the little yellow purse since our school colors are purple and gold. Pants, top and purse are all second hand!

I bought this mannequin form (which is covered in fun modpodge print) for $13 and have had a lot of fun creating outfits: it really helps me visualize ideas. I didn’t have a still picture of my outfit (only a video), so decided to share this picture. Not all yellows and mustards are created equal, so if you have tried one shade of yellow and have not liked it on your skin tone, don’t give up and try again!
A bientôt!

I love that you found a mannequin….I’m always on the lookout but haven’t had luck yet.
And brava for being the boss of your clothes. Those magnets are so handy, and I’m glad we got them when we could…it’s a bummer they are out of business.
XOXO

The mannequin is really fun! I need to get back to changing the outfit on it once a week, I just switched it up this morning.

Very pretty. I can appreciate yellow more and more. Especially with brown!

Oh yes, that would be a nice combo! I might just do that for a post I am doing when I visit Jodie.

How funny you didn’t realize you’d done a week of yellow! I wonder if I could do a week of a certain color. I love that mannequin! It’s even better than a flat lay or a valet rod! I do love yellow and blue together!

The mannequin is fun! I finally wore an outfit I had put together last month and changed it to a new outfit (which I will wear after vacation). I was thinking I should do a week of red one day!

You wear yellow – in all shades – so gloriously. And so does your darling mannequin. My mom once cautioned me to never wear yellow because it made me look seasick and green. But I think after all these years of never touching yellow, I have found shades of the color that don’t make me look queasy. I like your idea of adding yellow by way of the little bright bag. I could always get my dose of yellow that way!!

I think it all has to do with the shade a yellow: maybe a little butter yellow works best on you! There’s definitely some shades that don’t look good on me. There are some mustards that just don’t look good on my skin tone, and certain yellows don’t work.

Yellow with blue is wonderful so I get why you’ve styled it that way so often! I was surprised how much I liked the pop of yellow bag with your purple top – I know it’s a complementary color scheme, but these colors don’t come together easily in my mind.

I do looks at the color wheel sometimes. I’ve been thinking of creating a little notebook for myself with combo ideas that I usually don’t think of to refer to when I want a different idea.

You look so good in yellow! Those ankle bell bottom jeans are so cool. And loving those white pants with the scarf!

Those pants are really nice because they are lightweight!
