Atlanta Northside 4 Miler 2026

Last year, one of the gals in our group, Tricia, suggested we run the Women Northside 4 miler which happens on the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. A nice group from our running club loved the idea especially as we decided to have brunch after (and a few of us also spent the night the day before and had dinner). This year, we repeated the experience and enjoyed similar overcast weather which was great for running. You can see some pictures from last year in this post.

One of the things I really like about this race is that is is only for women, the course is 4 miles and since I am not trying to beat a time, but just like to enjoy myself, I run fast without running too fast. The other thing I love about this race is the medals. Everyone gets a beautiful medal. I don’t think they can top last year’s, but I really liked the medal this year too.

I felt less winded this time around, but that might be because I was running less fast, lol! Atlanta Track Club got some great pictures once again. I really like that you get these free with the race. We even got in line for a professional picture of the 4 of us who crossed the finish line the first from our group.

I managed to see the camera a couple of times to was able to smile. I usually look pretty bad when I am running as the effort shows in my face.

The last picture is me crossing the finish line: I like to put a burst of speed the last 50 feet or so (and pass a few people in the process), but that usually means I feel pretty terrible for a few minutes after the race. I do this even if I ran slower than usual (I like to pretend I ran fast the whole time).

Running with friends is really more fun than running alone and I ran this whole race with my friend Gretchen apart from the last half mile. I plan to run it again next year!

A bientôt!

Well done you! I run too, but I’ve never participated in a race in the twenty years that I’ve been a runner. I love the serious look on your face in the last two pictures : )

Bravo!! Another great running accomplishment. The most I have ever run is a 5K. Wonder if I could even do that now. Would like to try again, maybe this fall. But our runs are so expensive. At least they are expensive to me. That is a lovely medal you earned and I like the idea of a girls-only/women-only race. Those are some pretty terrific bike shorts you have on, too. Such a good length!!

With our running clubs, we get a great deal on the races they time (I think it’s $20). Other ones, it really depends: this one I think was around $40 and half marathons around here are $60 to 80 I think. It helps to sign up early for the early bird prices.
