Floral Dresses with the Ageless Style Link Up
It has been a lot of fun wearing all of my thrifted dress the past few months. Dresses are great as a standalone and on cooler days, and look cute with denim jackets or blazers. I really scored at the end of winter with my dress search. Finding dresses on Amazon has never worked for me (and I really try not to buy clothes from them as who knows where returns go), and what is in store is often not my style or not in my price range.
When looking for a dress, the fit is what does it for me: I will not wear an empire waist dress, so I look for dresses with a normal waistline. You can see how the last 3 thrifted dress I shared on the blog (maxi dress here, blue printed dress here and zebra print dress here) were flattering and each different from each other, but nip at the waist. While thrifting with my friend in Chattanooga in February, I found two short dresses.
This cute little dress was on the $1 rack! I used the colors in the print to choose my sandals and earrings. I am wearing two paper bead bracelets. I ordered this tote from Amazon a few years ago and it is usually on regular rotation in the summer months with my other straw totes.
I wore this on grocery day (I did use a crossbody bag instead) and made sure my neckline didn’t gap with MyMaggieSnaps glamours magnets. The dress is a true wrap dress which I find very flattering and I have now 3 such dresses.
Now that I have a nice collection of spring/summer dresses I make sure to add them to my weekly outfits. I typically wear a dress on Sunday and try to add one in my ootd during the week. I donated about 3-4 dresses this year and my criteria was that if I had to make myself wear them, then they should make someone else happy. I want to keep only what I want to wear and reach for.
I do find my longer dresses more practical for all day wear (they are easier to sit in and are less likely to fly up with the wind) but my shorter ones are fun too. I have another floral one with a back cutout I found on the same thrifting trip that I will probably share next month! It was more than $1 though!

That is a lovely dress and reminds me of one of the ones I got in my Stitch Fix box this past month. I have yet to wear it but I really like the style. I tend to lean more towards long dresses and skirts and am trying to get used to wearing shorter ones for summer.

Long dresses and skirts are more practical most of the time!

Bravo for using your Maggie’s magnets with this. I feel so much more comfortable knowing that my wrap dresses aren’t gaping open when I wear one.
I love this type of dress on you!!

You are like sunshine. You make me smile. What a perfect spring-into-summer dress. And those magnets are genius. I have a simiarly cut wrap dress and it gaps open on top if I move certain ways. The magnets would be so helpful.
Your yellow sandals are scrumptious, too. Yellow and blue are such a grand combination. And you wear both so well. I really want to follow your good lead and reach for some of my dresses, the t-shirt dresses and more casual ones, for errands and not just Sunday church.

Those small magnets have been handy. I’ve lost one or two but it comes with quite a few. I love bright sandals and shoes and surprisingly I don’t have many, I think only this pair now as my two last pairs just wore out.
