Which Colors to Pair with Brown
For our last Ageless Style Link Up, Bo shared different color combinations to wear with brown in her blog post. While I have worn brown before, it is not a color that I have much of, nor do I wear it often. I decided to use her post as a jumpstart on creating some brown and color outfits from my closet. She wore brown with red, with blue, light pink, leopard and purple. I chose 2 thrifted pieces from my closet as my brown items: a blazer and a faux leather skirt. Most of the ways I have worn brown before was with neutrals such as white, cream or black, so this was a good exercise for me!
Brown and Bubblegum Pink
Darker brown shoes would have been better with this combination, however it was still 80 degrees when I wore the dress and took these pictures, so I wore my caramel sandals instead. The dress is a pretty contrast to the brown and I really like the addition of my backpack purse and my wrap bracelet.
Brown and Lilac
This was a daily outfit from earlier this October. I really like the light purple against the darker brown. I have had these wedge sneakers for years and the print is what has made me keep them in my closet. I don’t wear them often, but when I do, I remember why I kept them. Remember, when a trend cycles out, you should continue to wear that piece, otherwise, you shouldn’t have bought it in the first place. A piece of clothing really should not be just a one season thing.
Brown and Teal

I’ve paired brown with teal before for a date night winter (here) in the past, so I wanted to share that combo again since I didn’t get to photograph my teal lace short sleeve blouse with this skirt yet.
Brown and Prints
Brown can pair with any color print, whether there is brown in the print or not! Love it with both of these 2 dresses!

I’m wearing brown and blue today. I tried it with pink last summer and loved that a lot! Also love it with your lilac!

I’m such a brown lover. I remember when I was working, I wore it a lot, and a couple people would comment.”Oh I never wear a brown”
Love these examples

I am surprised I don’t have more than 3 pieces in my closet. At least in the chocolate brown category.

When everyone started talking about brown earlier this year, I didn’t have any and didn’t intend to buy any. But, I have added a few things in brown. I think it all has to do with finding the right shade of brown. I really like the brown and bubble gum pink! It’s so unexpected!

I’m pleasantly surprised by those combinations. I always find brown ‘difficult’.

Yes! I think it’s because of the rich shade of brown, it’s very versatile.

Great inspiration, Mirielle! Love all of your outfits incorporating brown. I don’t have a lot of brown in my wardrobe either, but I have pulled out what I have this fall, to see how I can style it. The pink, blue and teal and brown are combinations I have worn in the past. I will have to give your other suggestions a try! Thanks for sharing, and enjoy your week!
