Leopard and Blazer: An Outfit Inspired all the Way from France
I started following several French ladies on IG a couple months ago and their style is right up my alley. Anne’s outfit actually inspired two outfits this month for the blog (here is her IG @manou67life). I love how she mixes different textures and styles to create interesting combinations. Today’s outfit is loosely based on an outfit she wore with leopard pants and a blazer.
For my outfit, I wore a leopard skirt and wore my belt below my blazer. I probably could have chosen my darker print leopard skirt and chosenĀ another belt to create a closer outfit to this one, but I wanted to put my twist on it.

Some people think that copying other people’s look lacks individuality, but I beg to differ. Unless you are actually replicating their outfit by purchasing the exact pieces, you are putting your twist on their original outfit and making it your own. The activity of trying to replicate an outfit from your closet actually stretches your imagination and makes you think of your clothes in a new way. It allows you the opportunity to wear your pieces in new ways.

I thought my little croissant earrings were just the perfect touch with my C’est Bon graphic tee. My friend Rachel gifted me the earrings for my birthday!
I will say that after looking at these pictures, I would like to see how my belt would look over the blazer. That little tweak would be it more visible as it would stand out against the black blazer. That is why taking pictures of your outfits can be helpful. I take a daily picture of my outfit more days and I usually like what I have come up with, but every so often, a tweak would make the outfit better.

I think you’re right in that recreating an outfit with your own twist is just as creative, an individual.
And it would be cool to see the belt over the blazer….
Fabulous outfit

Yes! I need to do it more often, I have a couple thin belts that would work well.

I’m usually not a fan of leopard but the print on your skirt is lovely! And I love the earrings : )

Those are fun earings and I agree that looking at other people and how they dress can be inspirational and always helps when thinking about clothes. My motto is always experiment and it looks as though that is yours too!
That outfit is great – there’s nothing like animal print for style!!!

Yes! It doesn’t always work but if I like it usually, it might work for me.

Copying and inspiration are two totally different things, and I agree that recreating a look with your own twist to it is a fun creative way to try something new with your closet. The light animal print skirt in your version looks great, especially with your hair color!
