Sequin Skirt: 3 Ways to Wear
When the right skirt comes along, you get inspired and find all kinds of ways to wear it. Your clothes should inspire you and not make you feel like you “need to” wear them. I shared a sequin skirt I returned earlier this month because I did not like the shape of it, and I felt it look cheap with the large paillettes versus some small sequins. Today I am sharing 3 ways I came up with (with some Pinterest inspiration) and I wore the first one to church a couple weeks ago. I look forward to wearing it all winter long too.
Sequin Skirt: Casual Style

The first thing I liked about this skirt from JcPenney (here) was the color! I don’t have a lot of brown in my closet and finding this skirt to a bit of work. I went to the mall with the purpose of finding a sequin skirt that I liked and started at Macy’s. The malls was a little depressing with its short hours, some closed stores and tired exterior. But I knew it might be the place to find a skirt I liked since they were several stores in one place.
I also liked the elastic waistband, the hem and the slit on the skirt. It definitely is more of a pencil skirt shape that the one I had tried before. The sequins are small and sparkly!
Sequin Skirt: Edgy Style
Black, brown and pink, yes please! I really like this color combination! I am also thinking this skirt could be really pretty for Christmas with a light grey sweater I have that has metallic tones and a big bow in the back! I will have to photograph that for my Holiday Looks post!
Sequin Skirt: Stay Warm
I tried 4 different pairs of shoes before settling on these: I wanted something a little edgy and casual, so I tried another pair of combat boots, some mules and a pair of snakeskin booties, but these were the ones I liked the best. I cannot wait to wear this outfit too! That is how it should be with the clothes hanging in your closet: you should be excited to wear them!
I hope I inspired you to wear your festive skirts for other occasions than just holidays!
A bientôt!

Great outfits with your new sequin skirt, Mireille! Glad you found one you really love. I am very inspired to dress down my sequins and the other fancy items I relegate to special occassions. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good weekend!

This one was a good one! I did have to go in person to the mall so I didn’t have to do the whole order and return things wasting money on shipping (like I did with Kohls and Old Navy).

And of course there are so many more ways to wear this. With tights when its really cold for one.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a brown sequin skirt, but this is gorgeous! It looks a little maroon on my laptop. I love the way you’ve styled it. Isn’t it sad how most malls are just not what they used to be? We mainly stick to the Fashion Mall (goof name, I know), and it’s filled with upscale stores (think Gucci, Vuitton, and Yurman), but there are several I can afford, too. It’s also got a policy about how old kids can be after certain hours. The other large mall in Indianapolis I would only go to during the day. It’s sad when I remember how wonderful they used to be. When my daughter lived in Norfolk, VA, they had a multi-story one…I think maybe five or six floors. And, it was full of light and good things. I wonder if it’s even open these days.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Yes, the malls are definitely kind of sad to visit, but when I want something specific it does make it easier to find what I need by visit several stores in the same spaces and being able to try things on.

Looks spectacular with the aqua sweater and white boots! 3 statement pieces that somehow come together with great balance in this outfit.
