Styling a Heart Scarf for Valentine’s and Beyond

I do not wear holiday theme pieces much unless it is a subtle nod to that holiday, whether by a classy design or by a color scheme. However, this fun and cozy scarf from Valerie’s Avenue is a great scarf for all winter long, and today, I am sharing 4 ways you can wear it. The possibilities are endless. Don’t think too much about my exact items (most are thrifted), but more of the combination and style of the pieces. This scarf also come in red and cream and in a multi color striped pattern. I met up with Yenni at a nearby French bakery for some treats and photos yesterday and we enjoying visiting for a while.

Black Denim and Red Sweater

Think pink sweater or any Valentine’s day color if you want to create a Valentine’s Day outfit, or just pair your black or blue denim with a sweater. A scarf like this is a beautiful statement on its own, so you can keep your outfit simple. Of course this formula works for all of the scarves in your closet. Note Yenni’s striped heart scarf: it’s a fun pattern!

Contrasting color

If you have a scarf with 2 tones, wearing it against a colorful top makes quite a statement. For this cream and black scarf, I can imagine it with a teal top, a bright pink top or a green top! It was fun pairing it with these thrifted skirt and sweater: I cannot believe I have never worn them together: I need to remedy that! Depending how you wrap your scarf, you can see one side or both!

Chunky Sweater and Denim

I typically wear my scarves with lighter sweaters, but this would be a right cozy outfit on a cold winter day. Remember that your thicker scarves can be worn several ways! I was planning to try this scarf wrapped as a skirt, but I ran out of time. You can also wrap it as around your head and shoulders and a snood!

Feminine Skirt

I wrapped the scarf so that both colors would show and so that my skirt could shine. Any of my tulle skirt would have worked well for this outfit. The white sweater is a nice canvas to display and spotlight the scarf.

“Life is short, start with dessert”

Whether you would like to shop Valerie’s Avenue or wear the scarves in your closet, I hope I gave you some inspiration for the rest of this winter!

A bientôt!
