Atlanta Botanical Gardens: Yellow Color Search
A couple weeks ago, I took the boys to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in hopes of the tulips still being in bloom. However, they had just pulled them out and tilled the area where they had been, so we decided to focus our visit on a color search. Since I was participating in a color challenge with some friends, we look for two colors, yellow and pink! We renewed our membership to the gardens, so we will be back in a couple months when the new sculpture exhibit is installed.

Searching for blooms of a color is a fun way to make a visit to the gardens more interesting. We have visited the Atlanta Botanical Gardens many times over the years, so some things like the orchid daze does not hold the same awe as it did the first few times. Looking for less tropical blooms was actually fun!
We really had a nice time! We picked up my oldest from his apartment which is about 10 minutes away from the gardens and enjoyed lunch there at one of the several food kiosk on site.
It was definitely a downer that the tulips were not there. I was really looking forward to some pictures of the boys with them as a throwback to when they were little.

Since there was a wall of yellow orchids, I took a token picture of them, but didn’t really take many pictures of the rest of the exhibit.
A bientôt!

Oh I love the idea of color search. You found some really neat yellow plants. But what a bummer that the tulips were gone.

I was sorely disappointed about those tulips!

Such a fun time to search for yellow that way.
Love how you take advantage of the botanic gardens.

What do they do with the tulip bulbs? At Newfields, they donate them to neighborhoods and adult care facilities. I was surprised they pulled them up, but I figured they must do that because there are always blooming flowers in the same space. Last week, they were still blooming, but I wonder if they’ll be gone when I go tomorrow. It’s a shame you weren’t able to recreate your photo of your boys.
